The best movies from the past to watch again
Because you probably have a lazy moment on the couch this weekend and maybe for a change won't watch Sex And The City again, can I suggest these movies to you? You've definitely seen them but they remain fun and remind us of the past, and a trip down memory lane is always a party. So without further ado, here are the best movies from the past to enjoy watching again.
Mean Girls (2004)
Maybe this is the best movie ever made and the quotes in this film have become part of our culture. “Get in loser. We’re going shopping” for example. Or “on Wednesdays we wear pink,” “stop trying to make fetch happen” and of course “yo go Glen Coco!” Mean Girls is the absolute best. Period.
10 Things I Hate About You (1999)
Delightful classic high school movie with many popular kids against the losers, overbearing fathers, and a plot where it turns out that the good are actually the bad and vice versa. And, Heath Ledger on your screen, just the memory of him is reason enough.
How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days (2003)
Was recently on TV and man oh man what a gem this is. She (Kate Hudson) has to treat the guy she's dating as badly as possible for an article for 10 days and do all sorts of terrible things to him, while he (Matthew McConaughey) has to try to make her fall in love with him in 10 days. They obviously don't know this about each other and then at the end everything comes out and there's a crisis but then love and oh it's all wonderfully predictable and delightful. Also, Matthew McConaughey is ridiculously wildly attractive in this film.
The Parent Trap (1998)
When Lindsay Lohan was still small and cute and played two roles in this film by herself. Do you remember? One part of the twins lives with the mother, the other with the father, they meet at a camp and decide to set up a plan to get their parents back together. Of course, it doesn't go that easily and what follows is 127 minutes full of clichés and bad jokes that are very easy to digest.
The Wedding Planner (2001)
You won't find it sweeter than this, and Jennifer Lopez is already incredibly annoying after half an hour but that shouldn't spoil the fun. You know exactly what's going to happen from the first second and sometimes that kind of clarity is quite nice in life.
Two Weeks Notice (2002)
Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock in one film is already a party, especially when they fall in love with each other. And no, that's not a spoiler, that's just what happens in these kinds of films. He is a lawyer with expensive suits and a very rich life, she works under him but feels totally undervalued and quits. Only then does he realize what he's missing and do you feel the love yet?
You’ve Got Mail (1998)
I've really seen this movie three thousand times and it still entertains me. Maybe it only gets better because everything comes from the stone age and that adds an extra entertainment factor. I can't reveal too much about the plot because if you haven't seen it yet, that would spoil it, but there's something about love (duh) from an unexpected corner. Go see it!
