I have a rather uncontrollable fetish for Funda. I can spend hours on it, then I set the minimum at 2 million and then the big dreaming can begin. Swimming pools, gigantic rooftops, a thousand rooms, and oh, it just goes on and on. Right now, Funda only has Dutch houses, so if I want to transfer that fetish to international properties, I turn to One Fine Stay and Airbnb. We all know the latter, the former is a bit less known. In principle, it’s exactly the same concept as Airbnb, only the houses on One Fine Stay are all quite beautiful and quite expensive and they undergo a rather thorough inspection before they can go online. My preference for actually booking and searching definitely goes to Airbnb (I really love that site) but for the Big Dreams, One Fine Stay is a great choice. Tomorrow, Jet and I are driving to Paris for Fashion Week. We are staying in a hotel but still, enough reason to share my current 7 favorites with you.
Light, white, lots of space, not too much hassle, and special details, I want to live here immediately. In the hallway, the white walls have artistic illustrations by Jean Luc Moerman, and above the bed in the master bedroom hangs a lamp with small colored birds. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and it can accommodate 4 to 5 people. Cost: from €390,- per night.

Just by the address, I would feel at home here immediately, but the interior also helps a lot. That DVD cabinet in the living room, the floating books, the beams, the white walls, I love it and can already see myself sitting there. Maybe not the most exciting location (on the edge of the 9th arrondissement) but with the metro, you can get anywhere in no time. Here too, 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and it can accommodate 4 to 5 people. Cost: from €312,- per night.
Rue D’Amsterdam via One Fine Stay
Baby blue walls in the living room, cobalt blue walls in the dining room, colorful art on the walls, a serene bedroom, an incredibly lively neighborhood, what’s not to like? Located between the 8th and 9th arrondissement, you are close to everything, and from the photos, it looks like you are in or around a lovely typical French street. It can sleep 3 to 5 people spread over 3 bedrooms with two bathrooms, and you pay from €361,- per night for that.
Imagine that this house is just yours. Big, white, bright, and with a fairly large terrace/garden! I can already see myself lying there with a vin blanc and some pain avec fromage. Within ten minutes, you are at the Louvre, although the decor of this apartment is already enough art to look at. Gather 5 to 6 friends, put them in the three bedrooms and three bathrooms, and have the time of your life. Cost: €378,- per night.
Rue de la Folie Méricourt via One Fine Stay
Look, this is the real deal. This enormous apartment is located in Trocadéro, one of the fancier and more expensive neighborhoods of the city. High ceilings, ornaments, golden frames, and hardwood floors with herringbone patterns. The cooking island in the kitchen even gets me excited about cooking, and I want to slide down the large wooden spiral staircase all day. Plenty of space for 8 to 10 people, in four bedrooms and also four bathrooms. It’s not cheap, all this luxury and opulence, the cost is €1154,- per night.
Avenue Kleber via One Fine Stay
A little history lesson: Emile Deschanel (1819 – 1904) was a French writer and politician and the father of Paul Deschanel, the 11th president of France. You can make a nice impression with that. In this apartment, there are also high ceilings, an abundance of ornaments, and insane furniture and overall decor. You are literally around the corner from the Eiffel Tower, have your own courtyard, and an indoor gym. There is space for 7 to 9 people, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. This one is also not cheap, the cost is €1093,- per night.

And of course, we save the best (and the most expensive) for last. Because this apartment around the corner from L’Opéra Paris is actually a kind of small Versailles. Or well, small, with 300 square meters, it’s not really small to call it that, but you get my point. Just the living room, where should I start? Gold-colored ornaments on the ceilings and walls, chandeliers, original parquet with herringbone patterns, insane art objects throughout the house – well, it’s really insane and you have to see the photos. Just make sure to bring a hefty bag of money, there are three bedrooms and a total of five people can sleep there. And that will cost you €1400,- per night.
