Food & Drinks

These are the tastiest non-alcoholic drinks

Give me a glass of wine and you can already order a second glass. God, how many times I rolled in my bed with the idea that I could have easily been home two hours earlier with five glasses less in my system and that the evening would have been just as enjoyable.

Or then I decide to have an alcohol-free evening, but then I'm persuaded by a friend within 10 seconds. But sometimes I really have to be strict (or boring, unfun, whatever you want to call it) because I have a hangover at the slightest thing already and that's not my best friend. In fact, I can't handle it and then I'm mostly just frustrated and promising myself that I will never drink alcohol again. Well, you might all know it.

Are you planning (planning, right) to skip alcohol during a night out or a dinner and choose for a fresh (sober) morning, or are you pregnant, then I give you a few options of what you can order instead of wine. And not boring Spa red, but something more festive that makes it seem like you're still participating a bit.

Spritzer

Okay, I'm already cheating a bit because this does contain alcohol but minimal. At least, you can dose it yourself. It's actually white wine with Spa red.

Crodino

This is an Italian aperitif, it has a bit of a bittersweet taste and is (usually) served in a champagne flute with an ice cube and/or a slice of orange.

Ginger ale with mint and lemon

You can order ginger ale almost everywhere and you can pimp it a bit with mint and lemon. The soda is quite sweet, but the lemon makes it a bit sour and you can easily drink it all evening. To be honest, there is quite a bit of sugar in it, but really not as much as in a glass of wine.

Bionade

This isn't sold in every hospitality venue, but if they have it, it's worth trying. Organic lemonade in different flavors (elderflower, lychee, ginger, orange) with natural sugars.

San Pellegrino limonata

Spa red with a hint of lemon flavor. It's delicious and ask if you can have it served in a wine glass so you can almost join in like the rest.

Cheers! And hey, the next day you'll stick your nose up at everyone.
