Things you didn't know about your MacBook
Since I switched from Windows to Apple about three years ago, I can't imagine ever being without my MacBook. Not only because it's of course the most beautiful, but also because it's so wonderfully easy to use and rarely crashes. What I also find endlessly fun is that there isn't a week that goes by without discovering a new cool feature that I can play around with. Are you reading along from a MacBook? Did you already know the following things?
Yes, really! Only English texts, but it can recite them beautifully for you. I found it especially a handy feature while studying, I selected the text I wanted to be read aloud, leaned back, and let it all wash over me. So you select the desired text, go to edit, then click on speech and then on start dictation et voila, you're done.
As in, you can dictate a text that it then converts into writing, also only in English. Handy for emails, for example, you go to modify and then click on start dictation. Just remember to speak slowly and clearly, otherwise it goes wrong.
For people like me who absolutely cannot calculate, a calculator is essential. If you click on the magnifying glass all the way at the top right of your screen, you can search your computer, but you can also type in a sum and get an immediate answer. So now I know, for example, that 6780 * 7264 = 49249920. Indispensable information.
I have a job where I can consider scrolling through net-a-porter.com as research, but if you have to deal with financial reports and annual figures or whatever, then 10 minutes of digital shopping can sometimes be a bit much for the boss . That's why you quickly press cmd + H at the first sign of danger, and the screen you were working on disappears immediately. Then click on its icon again, and it's back, so no worries about suddenly losing tabs with new acquisitions.. Both in English and Dutch, hooray! You select the word you don't know, tap with three fingers on your trackpad, and there it is, the word is explained right on your screen. How handy!.
You probably already knew this, but I recently spoke to someone who didn't know, so just to be sure: you can text with it! You link your iCloud to 'messages' and all your texts are on your computer and vice versa. Super handy for when you get sms thumbs from
endlessly sending messages to that one flirt Since I switched from Windows to Apple about three years ago, I can't imagine ever being without my MacBook. Not only because it's of course the most beautiful....
