Everyone has a dip sometimes. Especially those unexplainable ones. Sometimes you think that “a new day” is the best solution, but I'll give you some tips to get over it sooner:

  • Try to make a little space in your head. You really don't have to dig deep into the cause of your dip; sometimes you just feel crappy because you feel crappy. But it can also be small things like rushing in the morning or just because everything seems to be going wrong. Write it down or say it out loud. “Hello, I'm having an incredibly crappy day today.” Just that one sentence can make a big difference. Make it discussable. And especially discuss this with your girlfriends. If you burden a man with this, you might become even grumpier, because they often don't understand that you can have a dip without a real reason. Sorry guys.
  • I get you, you'd prefer to lie on the couch with a big box of chocolate, but don't do that. Go outside, get some fresh air.. You probably don't even want to think about going for a jog, but believe me, once you've done it, you can take on the world again. And afterwards, you can definitely lie on the couch. With chocolate. Then it's not out of self-pity, but because you actually feel like it (and it tastes a bit better after a workout).
  • Maybe you find it a bit too airy-fairy, but I have a really nice meditation app called HEADSPACE. Get cozy on the couch in a comfy outfit, put on some headphones, close your eyes, and listen carefully to what is being said.
  •  Put on some cheerful music. Just look at this list and turn the volume up to max.
  • And lastly. Just cry for a bit. It helps, you know.
