This is what you eat when you have a hangover

So, did you have a nice night? Somewhere on a dance floor? Or did you sit endlessly at a table with lots of wine? By the way, maybe you got home quite on time, but were accompanied by a nice boy. All the reason to be hungover.

Here at the editorial office, we also sometimes suffer from that. From that hangover. And we all have our own way of getting over it. Going outside for fresh air is, as everyone knows, the very best, but I still prefer to hang around in bed a bit all day or move to the couch with a movie. I order Dim Sum or eat a noodle soup, then I'm over it within an hour. By the way, I still don't get off that couch.

Liesbeth puts a can of Diet Coke in the freezer, which she sometimes forgets to take out, but you understand that she needs ice-cold cola. Then she spreads a ciabatta with smoked salmon and puts an egg on top. Normally, she usually prefers to break the yolk, but with a real hangover, she likes to eat it whole. That it drips down so nicely when you take a bite, that. And in a good mood, she also adds some avocado on top.

May-Britt drinks a lot of water and ginger tea all day long. She prefers to do that on the night itself, but she always forgets. Then there has to be Chinese food on the table. With a lot of sambal. Actually, anything spicy and from afar is particularly desired.

Josselin thrives on white bread with sprinkles and makes a fruit shake for herself. Then she feels like she compensates a bit. Oh, and afterwards she also makes an omelet.

Below is a list of foods that help with that hangover. Don't care about ‘the diet’. On a day like this, anything goes. And go outside, really, that helps.

– Toast with honey

– Bananas

– Roti

Milk, milkshakes, ice cream. Don't ask me why, but this seems to help alleviate the symptoms of an acute hangover. There is someone in our editorial office who prefers to drink a carton of milk and eats five or six (oh, what does it matter) Vietnamese spring rolls with it. That hangover is gone.
