THIS IS HOW YOU ENJOY YOUR HOLIDAY LONGER
– the nicest ways to preserve photos –
We can still enjoy a nice late summer week this week, but for the rest, summer is really over now. Everyone is back at work, schools have started again, and that holiday feels like it was months ago. And you probably rarely look at those photos on your computer, so something needs to be done about that. Personally, I love cutting and crafting, but for the quick, yet just as creative person, I’ve also put together some fun ideas. That holiday is closer than ever.
Blurb: for the professional
For those who really want to tackle it professionally, there is Blurb. With this online tool, you can completely create your own photo book. I mean, completely. So you really need to master the tools of Indesign and Photoshop. Once you succeed, you print your book on the finest paper, with the most beautiful cover and the best fonts. It’s worth it to spend some time on this.
Albelli: the accordion book
If you don’t have much time to create a 50-page photo book, the pocket photo book from Albelli is a great solution. You choose your 22 best photos and voilà, you have your photo book ready. It’s one of those accordion books that you can fully unfold.
Now I can imagine that you’re not always ready with your DSLR to take a photo, and so you just quickly snap a shot with your iPhone. With #mobileprint from HEMA, you can print all the photos from your phone in square Instagram format or ministretch format for your regular mobile photos. It’s printed on slightly thicker paper, has a nice gloss, and you receive it in a nice box.
Magnet photos
Friends of mine bring back one of those hideous fridge magnets as a souvenir from every holiday destination. It doesn’t look good, of course, but “it’s the thought that counts.” They have since adjusted their plan to the uglier the better. To create a stylish little scene, you can print your personal Instagram photos (or holiday photos) on a magnet at Via Martine. Just a bit more fun, and this way you can happily think back to your holiday every day.
The old-fashioned postcard
You make your surroundings happy by sending a card. It’s part of the traditional holiday feeling, right? Via a mobile app, you send your photo, and Klepper ensures that the photo is printed and delivered to the right address. It’s even so fun that you might as well send a photo to your own address.
Postercandy
To enjoy your holiday every day, without having to pull a book from the shelf and with little effort: postercandy. You upload your photos, and a collage is automatically created. You receive it in large (think really large!) format, and you can hang it in your bedroom, office, or wherever.
For the lazy enjoyer
Really don’t feel like spending time making, editing, or cutting and pasting holiday photos? Then just set them as your background. At least you’ll be happy every day when you sit behind your desk working and come into contact with the photo. And it’s also a reason to tidy up your desktop a bit. If it’s full, then it’s really time for a holiday again.
