THROUGH THE WASH STREET

Amsterdam Fashion Week started last night. Claes Iversen kicked off the event with an unparalleled show and of course, all of fashion and beauty-loving Netherlands was there. To make the beauty press look good, Zenner, Make-up Studio and CND Shellac organized a front row ready little event where you were prepared to fully enjoy the evening.

Wow, am I glad to belong to the kind of beauty press. I was treated like a true princess. Upon entering, a cheerful Tom Sebastian host was waiting for me with a cocktail in hand. I was allowed to take a seat where two people started curling my hair, yes you read that right, two people, meanwhile someone was giving my nails a coat of polish and Tom was making my makeup festive. It was indulgence. All of that lasted half an hour, not longer, because Amsterdam Fashion Week means running, flying, and rushing from one show to another.

The three tips that turned out to be essential yesterday to cram everything into half an hour (and to achieve the same at home) were as follows:
1. Always pay attention to your nails. It immediately looks well-groomed and is the finishing touch of any outfit. If you want to give it that little extra, put a bit of glitter on your ring finger. It only needs to be one finger, so it’s not too much work, but then you have that little extra.
2. Invest in a hair accessory. You may not have much time to get your hair front-row proof, but a hair accessory elevates everything. It can be grand and spectacular nowadays, but it can also still be a small golden hairpin. It radiates luxury and class, and that’s what we want. Oh, and speaking of hair, always have a powder at home. Tom poured about a whole can into my hair, but then I was assured that I had volume all evening. So powder.
3. The red lip. Yesterday I already wrote that red lips hold the attention the longest, from the men, but it is chic, radiates class, and puts the finishing touches on your look. Even if you have little time to glam up, the red lip is the least you can do. According to Tom, you achieve this best with just a pencil. Then it stays beautifully matte. After about two hours it starts to fade, but maybe that’s even prettier. I had my doubts, but what Tom says is truth. And that was also proven after two hours. It was beautiful.
