VA VA VOOM VUITTON
It's always a celebration when a new Louis Vuitton campaign is released. We saw Michael Baryshnikov (Alexandr Petrovsky in Sex and the City) and Catherine Deneuve on steaming platforms, surrounded by, you guessed it, dozens of Louis Vuitton suitcases. Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin let a hot air balloon drift above the Tuileries in Paris and now it's Peter Lindbergh's turn to photograph Edie Campbell and Karen Ellson. Among the cheetahs. Now Edie is quite used to it. She walked almost naked in the last Louis Vuitton show by Marc Jacobs (okay, she was covered here and there with Stephne Sprouse-inspired slogans) so she holds her own. “I was a bit drunk when I was asked for that show, so I said ‘yes’ pretty quickly. If I had been sober, I would have thought about it longer, and better.” Edie is much more covered in the campaign and oh la la how beautiful. As an accessory, some giraffes in the background and some cheetahs too. But they were quite tame. As long as you had enough pieces of meat to keep them sweet, that is.
