CHANEL HAUTE COUTURE S/S14

It is the fashion moment that even Kimye and ADR are nervous about and the highlight of Paris Fashion Week; the haute couture show of CHANEL. Tuesday was once again time for the biannual spectacle at the Grand Palais and once again the 80-year-old Karl Lagerfeld did not disappoint. Through our neverending love affair with Chanel, we could endlessly talk about the how, what, where. But instead, we quickly to the point list the three most striking points for you;

Trainers

Sneakers have been doing well with the fashion audience for a while now. Nike Air Max is celebrating its heyday and Isabel Marant's wedge sneaker was a roaring success. But Karl took it up a notch yesterday by having the models in his haute couture show walk exclusively in sneakers. Walk, or rather run, because the ladies were instructed to quickly trip down the runway before making their way through the hall. The Lagerfeld-style sports shoe was black, pink, or white, with glitter and lace laces. Fans who want to purchase a pair can start saving now. There is a price tag of 3,000 euros per pair. The sneakers are handmade by Massaro, a workshop owned by the French fashion house, and it would take at least 30 hours to produce a pair.

Wasps' waists

Karl showed that next season is all about the waist His latest version of the Chanel suit features a crop top with a skirt hanging on the hips underneath, beautifully highlighting the ultra-slim waist. Stunning.

Cara Delevingne

As one of Karl's muses, queen Delevingne opened and closed the Chanel show. During the finale, she came out as a bride in an ethereal, transparent dress with a train and feather headdress and sneakers, assisted by five-year-old Hudson Kroenig, Karl's godson.
