Woman and scale
8 crazy things we do on the scale
I believe I have stumbled upon one of the few remaining taboos. The scale. Especially women and the scale. The research by Viva on women and weight surprised me not at all. But it was certainly interesting to read. We exhibit quite peculiar behavior there in the bathroom. I conducted some empirical research here at the editorial office and came up with the following confessions.
- We weigh ourselves naked. That for sure.
- We empty everything we have in us before weighing ourselves. Pee, poop, that easily saves half a kilo. At least that's what we think.
- The weighing session always takes place before showering or bathing. After showering, you have wet hair (so heavier and therefore not a good idea at all) and I don't know what it is, but after a bath we always feel a bit swollen and puffy and thus not in the ideal state to weigh ourselves.
- Everything comes off. Underwear, hair ties. I even heard someone say she removes her tampon before stepping on the scale.
- Some of us move their left toe to shift the starting position of the scale slightly to the left so that you start with -2 kilos and weigh two kilos lighter. And then be very happy about it, right?.
- Someone else among us holds onto the wall cabinet first, giving her the feeling of stepping onto the scale lighter and thus positively manipulating the final result.
- Yet another one researched the placement of the scale. On the carpet, it weighs heavier than on tiles, and near a wall seems to give a more positive final result than in an open space.
- Last point, we always weigh ourselves without anyone around. I think that's for the best.
