MAKING WAY FOR YVES

After l’Amour Fou, that beautiful documentary about the life and especially the art collection of Yves Saint Laurent and his beloved and business partner Pierre Bergé, our fashion eye is craving a new epic. It’s almost here. YSL, the movie is on its way.

Lead actor Pierre Niney resembles the young Yves so much that Pierre Bergé wiped away an extra tear because Yves suddenly felt very close.

We can’t wait for the film because the director gained access to 77 vintage couture pieces and 1500 other pieces from Yves. Filming was also allowed at the headquarters of Yves Saint Laurent on Avenue Marceau in Paris.

It promises to be an honest portrait that also shows the depressions Yves suffered from. “There are details I don’t like,” Bergé responded after seeing the film. “But they are of no importance whatsoever. You have to take the movie as it is and see it as a whole.”

On April 10, the film will be in theaters, but we are going to the premiere on Monday and will of course report immediately.
