WHO ARE THEY, WHAT DO THEY DO AND WHERE DO YOU FIND THEM.

I have just pay attention. And onen one of the most striking things here I find the people. Step into any random subway and you see it immediately. All mega different types with their own story, dream and background. Also very characteristic of this city: almost no one here is onen ‘something’. Recently I met a girl. She is a ‘house flipper’ (you know,: buying, renovating and selling houses) in Delaware, a blogger about New York and in Brooklyn she runs a donut shop. Everyone here is ‘something’ and at least one more ‘something’. So you would almost think that prototypes in this city are hard to find are. But that is of course possible.

In a year and a half I have found five categories among the ladies here. By the way, I also find the gentlemen here in very good defined boxes. But I’ll save that for a later moment. Okay, back to the women. Prototypes and yes, this is of course a bit of a sweeping statement. onen But box thinking at times is simple, nice and often anyway a tiny bit true.

The most appropriate umbrella term for these ladies is ‘hipster babes’. These girls are cool. And love round or curvy shapes. Round John Lennon sunglasses, men's shoes with a rounded toe, bowler hats over their often in bob-style cut hair. Nothing is straightforward with these ladies. But don’t think that those T-shirts with rolled-up sleeves come from the onen dollar shop. No no, these women care about the environment and the thought behind their clothing. Fairtrade. Art. Everything has and must have an extra layer of meaning. So those T-shirts with holes are thoughtful and usually come with a fairly high price tag. These girls often have creative jobs or attend creative schools. You mainly find them in the Lower East Side or Brooklyn where they drink red wine and listen to vinyl records.

About directly opposite the Lower East Side you find Meatpacking. And ironically enough, you also find almost the opposite of the keep-it-cool-hipster girl. The ladies in this neighborhood love tight and high and shiny. Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and Hervé Leger is the benchmark here and often with these ladies it goes: got it, flaunt it. Many boobies and buttocks also bounce over the cobblestone streets. They move in groups. These ladies are beautiful, tiptop well-groomed and love dirty Mmartinis and wvodka. They dine at STK, Catch and Bagatelle to then go with the red soles off the floor at real model & bottles (my term for large clubs with tables, bottles and many dancing ladies) clubs like PhD and VIP. So: Meatpacking is glam girls!

You recognize them from thousands. I think they are the most beautiful girls in the city. In a simple top, with fluttering hair (often in a half bun), coolestr sunglasses, a killer pair of jeans and an even cooler designer bag they strut through the streets. Often in those from Soho. In this neighborhood, they have quinoa for lunch from Maman, drink chai tea and have breakfast at Jack’s Wife Freda. Less is more with these beauties.

The ladies by the tall towers. In fifth gear, they trot neatly but hurriedly from A to B. In smart outfits or A-line dresses they carry a bag with a laptop and work tools in one hand. In the other often shines a killer of a shopper. And by killer, I mean a bag that is definitely on my wish list. Céline. Chanel. You know it well. Often, a second pair of shoes sticks out of this bag, because these ladies have long days and like to walk home in sneakers afterwards. But before they do that, they drink wine and eat oysters at Balthazar, taste Eastern snacks at Ilili or brunchand they in Gramercy Hotel.

Are they the hipsters from the Lower East? The glam girls from Meatpacking? The pretty models or the work hard, play hard babes? No, no, no and no. They are also not really found in onen a specific neighborhood. They are everywhere, doing everything and actually they aree not to be boxed, which makes them so striking. They are super stylish in onen diverse ways. I can't really describe it, but they all have something intriguing. I call them the Lena Dunhams. You know, that multitasker behind the series Girls among others. She has that too. Maybe it's best to very describe it as 'sophistication'. Yes, I think that's it. But for the observant viewer in the city, you surely know what I mean. Most Lenas can be found in West Village like on the terrace at Bar Pitti or having coffee at Bluestone Lane To the question of which category I belong? Uhm… I'll get back to that. One thing I do know: after two bottles of wine, I am always a.

Meatpacking glammer just missing the real boobies and butts. But hey, who cares!I WHO ARE THEY, WHAT DO THEY DO AND WHERE CAN YOU FIND THEM. I've been paying attention. And one of the most striking things here I find is the people.
