5 Things We All Worry About
I was browsing my favorite site, the Huffington Post, and came across an article about how ‘overthinkers’ are busy with this all day long. But I don't think you need to be a chronic overthinker to worry about things all day. Or maybe I also belong to the family of worrywarts, that could be it too.
That app from your friend
Normally, you end your messages with xxx's, hearts, and other till-death-do-us-part love declarations. Now you suddenly get a two-word response with a period. A period. Why? What did I do wrong?
The email from your boss
Your supervisor asks you to schedule a meeting. From that moment on, this buzzes through your head. Promotion? Dismissal? Is she pregnant? And why is that meeting only next week? Deliver me.
Your last Instagram post
You thought it was very successful and you were also very pleased with your text. But what, only 17 likes in ten minutes. Others probably think very differently about it. You let your post simmer for a while, but if it doesn't get a lot of attention after an hour, forget it.
Your vacation plans
Will it be something adventurous, a faraway place, or will you just go back to your old familiar Ibiza or Italy? You can't decide.
The weather
Not that I worry about it, but it does determine a large part of my day. Come on, let's check the weather again. And then adjust the weekend plans accordingly. And then adjust that for further pondering. Couture-worrying. My middle name.
