7 x why May is looking forward to the Renault Espace

In exactly one month, your editor-in-chief will unplug for two weeks and type Saint Tropez into the onboard computer. And I am really looking forward to that. I am going to floor the accelerator of the Renault Espace and that is the pearl of the Route Napoleon.

Look, the Renault Espace is celebrated and praised for its design. And it is sparkling new. So I am going to get a lot of compliments with it in France. Do you remember that Carine Roitfeld personally complimented me on my fancy Twingo?I am going for another compliment from an A-lister. Brigitte Bardot or Carla Bruni, that kind of thing. I will keep you updated.

That Espace has incredibly comfortable armchairs that also have a massage function. My only task is to ensure that none of my daughters sits in the passenger seat and takes those massages away from me.

Because you naturally drive your car at different times of the day, you want to adjust the atmosphere a bit to the moment of the day. I do that now with some music, but in the Renault Espace I can adjust the entire interior to my state of mind. Sporty, relaxed, eco, it adjusts the seat position and the color of the interior accordingly. Isn’t that great, or what?

The Espace is super spacious. Always has been. You can still go on having children or buying stuff because there is plenty of space. Two rows for passengers in the back. Because sometimes you need the space to transport things (in my case clothes for a shoot, but what about that new garden chair you are dangling on a standard) you sometimes want to get rid of those seats. Real men call that ‘making a hatchback’. Usually when I hear that a hatchback needs to be made, I duck away because that is a job. But with this Espace, you just press a button and poof, all the seats disappear into the floor. I am so looking forward to that hatchback moment.

The Renault Espace has a super spacious and large console between the driver and the passenger seat. So I can nicely store my sunglasses, makeup, a bar of something, and other essential basics in there. But the fun part is that the console is floating, giving me a view of the accelerator and even, if traffic allows, I could very carefully touch my beloved's leg next to me.

When you say Espace, you say light. Roof, windows; everything is as ‘glassy’ as possible so that I can see all the beauty of the French countryside passing by.

Well, that’s not entirely true. You do need a key, but you can just leave it in your bag. The car ‘feels’ you coming and opens the door by itself. You start it without the key. Particularly handy in case you just had your nails done.

I will keep you updated on all my adventures and my upcoming summer love. I am just not that good at really unplugging, after all, so I will just keep a nice little diary of our adventures in the French countryside.in the French countryside.
