Long live your imperfections

Before we post a photo on Instagram, we first take a close look at whether we look charming, if there are no weird rolls or bumps in the picture, a filter or 5 goes over it, and we ponder for a long time on a suitable caption. When we post a personal article online, we first think about whether we should share what is being described, and generally, we show the best version of ourselves. No one is perfect, but especially online, we do our utmost to come across as perfect as possible. But actually, that’s sometimes quite strange.

I have many flaws, just like Jet and Joss. Jet seems very disciplined and when it comes to sports, she is, but she loses everything all day long. Her desk (and often her house) is 9 out of 10 times an uncontrolled chaos, keys are always missing, and Amayzine's credit card has also been accidentally left behind in a store. And Joss, she shouts the loudest that she loves sneakers and that’s a good thing, because she can’t walk in heels. Stumbling through life, and even once with a broken foot as a result. And I really have no clue about finances. My closet is overflowing with beautiful things and even though I often buy them on sale, I buy way too much. Much more often I should think about saving, but far too often my last money goes on a heel, bag, or glass of white wine on a terrace: I have a hole in my hand.

We’re going to bare it all and wear (one of) our imperfections today on a T-shirt. Maybe that helps. And otherwise, just embrace them, because life is pretty boring without imperfections. Moreover, you never know who might actually find them very nice… So join in today with #LoveYourImperfections.
