I was in Paris for one day.

Here I ate, drank, and slept.

What if you are only in Paris for one day? I actually mean, where are you going to have lunch, dinner, and sleep? I found myself in that situation recently, namely at the invitation of Louis Vuitton to get a tour at Asnierès-sur-Seine. The place where Louis Vuitton bags are made. By the way, I will report on that soon, because I just have to tell you how special it is. Today I want to share with you where I ate and drank. A day in Paris is not much, so you have to make it count.

You hang in the air for just 50 minutes and then you can descend again. Okay, with the Thalys you arrive right in the city and you could still do a few things on your laptop during the journey, but with the plane it all just goes a bit faster. And I always find airports very nice. I bought a nice magazine there and some lovely Biotherm products, like a tube of sunscreen for my face, because Paris was bloody hot.

The Park Hyatt Paris. Man oh man, what a place. A gigantic hotel with an amazing indoor garden, a spa, and rooms where you could swim. I even had a hammam. And how fancy that I didn't even use it. I thought that was pretty cool. I just didn't have time for it. The hotel was around the corner from Place Vendôme, so also around the corner from Rue Saint Honoré, which is my favorite shopping street, for window shopping that is, because I seriously can't buy anything there. Too expensive.

That was at L’avenue. I have had lunch there once with Liesbeth and Kim Kardashian. But I can’t get enough of this restaurant. It’s incredibly about seeing and being seen, and normally I have a terrible aversion to that, but there it’s anything but. I seriously can’t take my eyes off all the celebrities, at least I always hope they come when I’m there. This time no famous ones, but the most beautiful Françaises with even more beautiful bags.

The menu features all kinds of small bites, just like the French eat. I filled the table with crab salad, avocado, and grapefruit, a plate of spring rolls, and some asparagus and artichoke. I love not too much fuss and that’s what this is. With the food, I drank a glass of rosé Bandol. Yum.

Lunching with wine calls for a tiny power nap, so I did that in my mega mansion. When I woke up, it was actually already time to sit down for dinner. I freshened up, slipped into a dark blue skirt from Zara, sprayed my favorite summer scent L’eau from Biotherm on, and was ready to go.

You might think, how boring, because dinner was at La Societé and that is the sister of L’avenue, which also means the same menu. I found that incredibly good news, because there was still plenty on the menu that I wanted to try. This restaurant is also full of the most beautiful people and the staff wears the sexiest evening dresses and crossbody (Chanel) bags where they keep their notepad and pen. Super sexy all around. I chose an egg white omelet with spinach and goat cheese and those very thin crispy fries. I drank (again) a glass of Bandol. And again, it all tasted divine.

You could have an espresso (or another glass of wine) around the corner from the restaurant at Le deux Margots, which is a real Parisian brasserie with a terrace with lovely heaters, so especially sitting outside to watch all the passersby. Oh, just let me sit there all evening.
