In the coming weeks, Carolien will be writing from LA and she is having quite a fun life there. Are you reading along?

My dear has a kind of ‘LA bucket list’ to work through that I'm just obediently following... A wine tour through Napa and Sonoma (also fun for me), hiking through the mountains (nice and active, until I came face to face with my arch-rival ‘the snake’) and yesterday shooting was on the agenda. I've held a ‘gun’ on set a few times in my life and shot blanks, but this was really something else... With each shot, you get quite a kickback and the bangs are so loud; we wore earplugs and headphones and I was still startled every time. It's super fun to cross off something from my own bucket list, but it will stay at this one time...

When traveling, I always want to take a compact bag that fits just enough so that I don't have back pain from carrying it at the end of the day. I've already received a lot of compliments about this Van Der Borne ‘small pizzabag’ here in LA. Another nice bonus: the more stains that appear on the bag, the more beautiful and rugged the leather becomes.

If you ever go road tripping on Highway 1 (a must-do), then this breakfast spot is an absolute must. In the mountains near the town of Carmel lies a beautiful Hyatt resort, where I had breakfast with the most stunning view ever. When we left, thick fog started to roll in, so we were just in time!

Monday was the day: with one press of the cast on a big red button, the new Videoland series ‘Zwarte Tulp’ went online. I received this photo forwarded to me, so I still felt a bit like I was in the audience. I'm very curious to see what everyone will think of the series.

Proud as a peacock, Jon poses with our cool ride and his new hat. In LA, you spend quite a bit of time in the car, and it's really a party to zoom through the city in a convertible. And with an average temperature of 22 degrees and a shining sun, you also immediately get a nice tan.
