17 days of detoxing, Carolien can manage that in between all her activities. Are you reading along?

‘But if I detox, can I still drink alcohol?’ This was a sincere question from my husband when he made a small attempt to support me during my annual detox course. ‘That’s exactly the whole principle: no alcohol, no snacks. Your body needs to reset and cleanse through juice fasting.’ This is the third year I’m detoxing with the Innerwave program and it’s going damn well! Besides a bit of cold shivers (which could also be due to that ridiculous winter weather…), I felt more energetic, healthier, and stronger by the day!

Because I’m rehearsing full-time for the film Sneekweek and couldn’t press my juices fresh every day, I got a juice package from JuiceBrothers. Every morning I received my six fresh juices and believe me: that was almost too much for one day! I’m now addicted to the ‘Coconut Cloud’ and ‘Dragon’s Breath’ variants. And Jon? He dutifully joined in with two juices a day and drank ‘only’ one glass of wine per day. A very personalized detox, that should be possible, right?

Believe me, we are rehearsing hard for the film Sneekweek. But in between, we have to take a selfie of this super nice cast every now and then! Sometimes it’s a bit too cozy and the director tries to call us to order with a firm ‘But we really need to continue now’. That doesn’t always work, especially not when we recently had a fit of giggles for fifteen minutes during a very serious scene… I hope that won’t happen anymore when the camera is in front of us :-).

East, De Jordaan, De Pijp: I actually feel at home everywhere in Amsterdam. But ‘my hood’ is really West: more and more pop-up coffee spots, new restaurants, and clothing boutiques are finding their way to my neighborhood. Thanks to these T-shirts from Fashion Junky, you can see at a glance what someone’s favorite area is. I feel a new kind of Tinder coming up, but then in real life!

Every morning I start my day with a round of Amayzine articles, nu.nl and drooling over vintage design at Designer-Vintage and The Next Closet. There’s an exclusive summer sale from the latter tomorrow! There are also a few gems from my own closet among them, like this tweed blazer from Dsquared, never worn!
