Discussing the Alexander Wang show in 8 key facts

Saturday night was the main show of New York Fashion Week. In terms of fashion, there are many more defining runways, but Alexander Wang's is simply the show where the boys are separated from the men.

The tickets are highly exclusive, but because I know people who know people, I was there. Admittedly in the back row, but I didn't care at all. I'll whisper a few things to you so you feel like you were there.

1. Everything for Alexander the Great

Wang managed to move the entire posh fashion crowd to Brooklyn last year. Now Brooklyn is the new black here in New York, but still, everyone was stuck in traffic for about two hours to get to the venue. Just to indicate how big Alexander is.

2. You collect celebrities

From my back row seat, I saw a blonde lady tripping in. “Isn't that...?” “You mean G.A.G.A.?” my fashion friend on the right said. Then a thousand cameras popped up on her. “I think so. She's definitely someone.” At the afterparty, I saw Lady Gaga (because it was her) dancing happily again. She turned out to have smoked a little cigarette during the show, by the way. I like her.

Besides Lady Gaga, Kim and Kanye were of course present. And Mary J. Blige. And Bella Hadid. And Kylie Jenner. And Nicki Minaj. You could say you've really made it in New York when you've reached the front row of Alexander Wang. I still have a few benches to settle, though.

3. Dutch girls

There they are again. A new generation of Dutch glory. Second was Jamilla Hoogenboom, a new gem from Micha Models who already kicked off last season with Céline. Another striking appearance was the high-blonde Marjan Jonkman, such a sweet puppy when you see her in real life, but a model with rockstar allure as she glides over the catwalk.

4. And then a bit about the outfits

Wang's previous collections didn't really warm me up, but this collection was beyond. The oversized bomber jackets, the tops with chain straps (with which Lexi Boling opened the show), the fringes that occasionally stuck out of a sweater, really incredibly new and cool. And I'm curious if my nephew Sam also says that Binx Walton looks like she's in her overalls on Super Mario...

5. Men included

For the first time, Alexander Wang also sent men down the catwalk. Something he can keep repeating as far as I'm concerned.

6. Leading role for Anna

If Claudia Schiffer and Brigitte Bardot could have had a child, it would have been Anna Ewers. She closed the show in a leather, embellished black dress. Very sexy.

7. Run, Alex, run

After the show, a film overview of Wang's ten-year career was shown on a screen as long as the catwalk. It was edited so quickly that a big Hollywood director would lick his lips. After the film, Alexander ran as if he was catapulted across the entire catwalk. Sometimes both of his feet floated above the ground.

8. And then the afterparty

To the right of the stage, things were going wild. There were four pole dancers, there was a pool filled with small bottles of Pommery champagne, people were walking around with small hamburgers and fried shrimp. And Lady Gaga went wild. Just like I did, by the way.
