DO YOU ALSO WANT TO BE IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA?

Then this is your chance

You must have sung in front of the mirror with a hairbrush or carefully fantasized about how you would present The Voice? Television remains magical, but difficult. The fun part of the profession is that many presentation techniques also help you a lot in ‘regular’ jobs.

Being able to present well, using your voice in a way that reaches people, that they listen, that you catch them with your words, your gaze, your tone. For the second series of Holland's Next Top Model, I booked some extra lessons with Minoesch Jorissen. Our young television children may not know her anymore, but in my time, Minoesch was one of the biggest (and certainly the most fun) presenters.

In the meantime, she coaches half of presenting Netherlands, where the technique is mainly focused on bringing out the best in yourself. A session with Minoesch is almost a psychotherapeutic session because she analyzes who you are and how you can best present that.

She said to me, for example: “You are a person of commas, not of periods. So don't try to make strong one-liners because then you come across much harder than you are.” I have gained a lot from that.

Anyway, long story short. Minoesch is affiliated with Talent Kitchen (the management of, for example, Eva Jinek) and they are organizing a summer camp for TV presentation this weekend. Minoesch, together with Leon de Ruyter (a very experienced editor), will give a two-day presentation training. You will learn the basic principles of making television, posture and appearance, voice and text control, and much more.

The workshop takes place at the Endemol Studios (definitely fun, because you stumble over the VIPs and GTST types) and there are still a few spots available. It costs €650 including VAT. That may seem like a lot of money, but it's a bargain because without being very indiscreet about money; normally these coaches are a lot more expensive.

You will definitely gain a lot from this in your working life and who knows, you might become the new Eva Jinek. Or Gerard Joling, that could also be.
