documentaries you must see on Netflix now
Now that IDFA is long gone, we have all of course fallen into a deep black hole. But no worries! Because thank goodness Netflix has increasingly better documentaries on the menu, so you can watch endlessly from your own home.
You have a glorious career as a porn star behind you and are ready for something new. But what? And how? Not everyone is eager to hire someone who has been seen on screen for years with a naked pussy. I find that incredibly interesting, and you probably do too.
Blackfish, guys, you absolutely MUST see this. It makes me incredibly activist, because you see how horrifically orcas live in captivity and I tell you, you’ll be crying on the couch and looking up where you can sign up to fight for the freedom of all orcas and other animals currently locked up in water parks.
I may not be known as a top chef and indeed, you will rarely if ever find me in the kitchen. Strangely enough, I think Chef’s Table is absolutely amazing. In this docuseries, we see various top chefs at work and it is so beautifully captured that you immediately wish for a job as a chef. Well, almost anyway.
The documentary about the flamboyant and elderly Iris Apfel is a must-see for everyone. Last year it was screened at IDFA, and now it’s just at your home.
Admittedly, I haven’t seen this one myself yet but it’s high on my wishlist, and that’s why it’s in this list. In 2010, the Americans made a mess again by killing innocent Afghan civilians and this documentary tells what exactly happened.
No docu list is complete without this one. You’ve undoubtedly seen it already, but no one gets worse from watching Anna Wintour and Grace Coddington one more time.
