Redacteur's Dagboek

It doesn't happen often that I'm the first one at the office. Three kids, you know. They have to be taken to school first, so if I manage to be here by 09:30, I'm happy. But later I have an appointment with Mart Visser and because of our crazy schedules, it had to take place early in the morning.

We'll meet later in his depot where all his couture pieces hang. And there I will experience an incredibly Cinderella moment because we are going to choose something very beautiful that I will wear at Marie Claire’s Prix de la Mode on Monday.

‘The Prix’ as it is called, is one of the chicest fashion parties. In my time as editor-in-chief, we welcomed the top tier of the fashion planet (think Peter Dundas from Emilio Pucci, Bette Franke, Nicola Gerber-Maramotti from MaxMara, Patricia van der Vliet, Piet Paris) at the Concertgebouw. On Monday, the venue is the Stedelijk, where I must shamefully note that since the renovation, I have only been there for parties and events and not for The Art. Shame!

I wrote last week that January is a hopeless month without fun parties, this week and next week are so packed that I wonder if there is any sleep time scheduled.

Well, this week might not have been too bad. Although due to the passing of Frans Molenaar there were some TV interviews added to the schedule. And my flirtation with my old love ballet caught the attention of Editie NL, which immediately made a segment about the ballet hype . The interview location was ballet store Papillon, so you understand that I immediately seized the opportunity there.

This weekend I'm flying with my love to Antwerp. Sleeping in our favorite hotel with a bathtub so big you can swim in it, and then the big party week begins. The Prix, a round trip to Berlin Fashion Week where we interview Sylvie Meis and Bar Refaeli, and of course Fashion Week Amsterdam.

What should we wear? Off to Mart!
