Emma's Amazing Fun(d) Raising: the coolest party in town.

For weeks, Amsterdam has been busy with one question: “are you going to Emma?” For the fifth (and last) time, Emma is the most popular girl in town and everyone who is anyone will be at her party. As always, it will take place in the Gashouder, and as always, all of hip & famous Netherlands will dance, drink, and bid deep into the night. Emma is actually the Emma Children's Hospital AMC, and Emma needs money for a large-scale renovation project. Two million is needed, and that two million is almost in.

In the past years, I have been there every time except once. Usually as a guest, but also once to work. I worked then for the best hostess agency in the world; Models at Work. Together with dozens of other models, we were transformed into pink dolls and tasked with welcoming the guests, guiding them to their VIP table, and later in the evening honoring them when they had won an auction item. Because that is the most important part of the evening, the auction. Unique pieces are auctioned off for astronomical amounts among the audience. I remember one edition where 50,000 euros was bid for two seats at the Chanel show. But also, if you want to take a helicopter flight, or throw a party for 100 people in the Jimmy Woo, or have Herman den Blijker cook for you – all of that can be bid on.

 Everyone works selflessly to ensure that all the money can go to Emma.

In the room, only heavyweights. A lot of extremely rich business people, but also many famous faces. Winston is an ambassador for Emma and often hosts the evenings, Robert ten Brink loves to be on stage, Olcay is always there, Sophie Hilbrand, Renate Verbaan, Geza Weisz – you get the picture. Next Friday is the last edition of this most fun party, and Jet and I will be there. Claire Slootheer from Iconic Studios Amsterdam has invited us to join her at the table and I can tell you, we are really extremely looking forward to it. Claire does the PR for the evening with her agency. By the way, at no cost, just like Models at Work. Everyone works selflessly to ensure that all the money can go to Emma.

When the bidding is over, the dance floor opens for a grand party that always goes on deep into the night. Jet and I danced until dawn last week, so that won't be any different now. Especially not now that we are going with Claire, the woman who knows how to make every party the best party. If you also feel like coming, (champagne included), I was exhausted on Saturday and still dead tired on Sunday. So I took Monday off and it was quite a party. I had slept in that weekend, so on that Monday I got up pretty early (half past 9) and did whatever I felt like all day. there are still tables for sale, .
