Food that gets you in the mood

(yes, we mean for sex)

Give me glass of champagne and an oyster and there’s a big chance I’ll start feeling a little wound up. Maybe because it’s been ‘proven’ and that it’s all in the head, but there is something sexy about it. Especially that combination.

I once walked around, during my Hotel school days, serving oysters at a chic party. “Oh, that always makes me so horny”, an estate agent type wearing Monk shoes said to me as I stood there with my seriously heavy tray in front of him. “Well sir, then I’ll be staying very far away from you this evening. Byeeee.” Yuck. You understand, a guy like that does not deserve any libido raising food, but that boy that I have an eye on certainly does. Maybe I’ll order one of these things from the menu. They are all supposed to get you turned on.

crayfish

I’m not making it up, there are enzymes in crayfish flesh that stimulate sexual energy.

 Oysters

These shellfish are one of the most well known aphrodisiacs. In other words: sensually titillating food.

 Champagne

After one glass of bubbly I always feel like another and very quickly find myself in the let’s-make-this-a-long-and-drawn-out-evening-mood.

 Peaches

I believe that these fruit symbolise the vagina in Asia. The herbalist Nicholas once described the peach as:
“The tree of Venus…….the fruit that stimulates lust…..” I think that says it all.

 Chocolate

Especially dark chocolate with a high cocoa percentage (higher than 70%), a good snack for your body and helps to release dopamine (the happy hormone) during the ‘act’. Cocoa contains an enzyme that makes your skin more sensitive. So, more beautiful and delicious it doesn’t get better than that.

 Figs

Yep, another one with dopamine. The amount of amino acids also make it extremely good for sexual stamina.
