A ‘working nine to five week’ and cutting the week in half on Wednesday is something Noor de Groot doesn't know at all. As Queen of Jetlags, she tiptoes around the world, always in search of the most beautiful flowers, a pastel-colored macaron, or, always good, an ice cream that perfectly blends with her designer bag.

Noor, Friday must be different for you than for ‘normal’ people. Or do you also have that what-a-great-weekend feeling?

“When ‘normal’ people start the weekend, my boyfriend (DJ Sander Kleinenberg, MM) actually starts his work week, so I always feel like it's not a day off. I do sleep in on Sundays, but I always keep working. My job is way too fun to leave it for the weekend. Of course, I share my lifestyle and life online, and that just continues over the weekend.”

You're not really a drinker anyway, but now there's definitely no gin in your glass. What does a pregnant Queen of Jetlags drink to kick off the weekend?

“An iced decaf skinny caramel frappuccino with soy milk. Just kidding, I only make those kinds of fancier orders in LA. My red wine has now become coffee. I do drink more coffee since I've been pregnant because it makes me feel like I'm drinking something ‘cozy.’”

Do you ever find that boring?

“Yes, it does depend on the occasion. When I'm at home, I'm fine with it, but at nice dinners and fun nights out in the city, it's more like time to go home. During fashion week season, I really missed my red wine. I've taken a sip here and there, confused Liesbeth's pure vodka with water and quenched my thirst that way, but I actually don't do that anymore.”

And now that we're on the subject: has your clothing style changed because of your pregnancy?

“I normally wear a lot of high-waisted jeans, which really don't look good now. I wear more oversized clothing like long sweaters and coats. I also don't think skirts look good right now unless there's a long sweater over them. I'm now 26 weeks pregnant; I think skirts will look nicer when I'm further along in the pregnancy. Right now, it still looks quite questionable; it could just as easily be that I've eaten too many hamburgers and there's no baby in there. I also find it more important now to wear nice accessories like glittery boots and beautiful earrings. And it's time for a new bag again.”

I always refused to buy maternity clothes and followed the tips from Victoria Beckham, who put a piece of elastic on the side of her jeans so that the front of your pants just looks normal. Do you have any of those kinds of tips and tricks?

“I now have elastic bands on all the buttons of my pants so that I don't have to wear maternity pants. I also don't want to buy maternity clothes, so all the clothes I buy are generally two sizes larger. That tip from Victoria Beckham is actually really good; I need to do that too.”

And heels? Are they still your friends?

“Yes, BFFs. I'm not going to walk around in a jumpsuit and health slippers. I often work long days and just wear high heels; I haven't had any problems with that so far. And let's be honest: we just switch off all the pain we feel in our feet, right?”

On to the weekend. I think that's a weekend in Amsterdam. That makes you happy, right?

“Well, I really wanted nothing more for weeks than to spend a weekend in Amsterdam. After six years of non-stop traveling, that was really my dream. I've been home for three weekends now, and I could live with going away for a weekend again, although it's always nice in Amsterdam.”

What are you going to do then? Take me through your Saturday. You wake up and then...

I want to know everything. Until you go to sleep again.

“Okay, I wake up. Tomorrow that's at 8 o'clock; then we have to drive to the other side of the Netherlands for a niece's birthday and then on to Oegstgeest where my father has a book presentation for his new book. After that, we're going out to dinner; Sander is going to DJ, he's spinning in the Netherlands this weekend, and I'm either going to join him or watch Netflix. Who am I kidding, I'm just going to sit in front of the TV tomorrow night.”

Does Sunday have a different color than Saturday for you?

“On Sundays, I actually want to sleep in and usually work less. A little in the evening, but for the rest, I actually want to do nothing all day. I also often go brunching somewhere with friends on Sundays.‘

What do you listen to and read on the weekend? And is there a crackling fireplace somewhere?

“Since I've been home more, I've been reading a magazine now and then, but generally, I read more on the computer. I also spend quite a bit of time online shopping on the weekends, my biggest hobby. The fireplace is usually nice and on at home. I'm watching Nashville a lot now, my favorite series on Netflix. I listen a lot to the album by Tame Impala and to James Vincent McMorrow.”

Finally. When is the next trip planned? And where does the trip lead?

“I'm currently looking with Sander to see if we can go on a babymoon next month, but the choice of destination isn't going very smoothly yet. I want to go to Dubai, and Sander wants to go to Friesland. I might still go to New York for work next month. I have nothing planned for January and February. Those are also the last eight weeks of the pregnancy, so I don't necessarily have to go away.”
