You all know Annemerel as the cheerful, attractive blonde runner and blogger, but we were curious about the things that people do not yet know about her. Or are there none left after twelve years of blogging?
What does no one expect from you?
Difficult! I have been blogging about personal things for twelve years, believe me.. I have fully exploited almost all my quirks in those twelve years. I think there are few things left that people do not know about me. Maybe that I secretly do not really like shopping? I do like buying.. but the whole shopping process is not really for me. I hate fitting rooms, I hate queues, I hate waiting for others. I can do ZARA in 10 minutes and then stand outside with a bag full (as long as there is not a really long line at the checkout), I sprint through that store, grab everything I like and pay for it. I try things on at home.. I often have the intention to return the things that are not so nice. From the way I write this, you can probably tell that this does not happen often… I usually shop online, or in foreign cities like Paris or New York. Shopping together is even worse than alone. Last year I was in New York with a good friend and luckily she felt exactly the same, we saw each other for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and did our own thing in between. Ideal!
What is your catchphrase?
‘Top!’ has been a favorite for years. Both online and offline. But I also say ‘seriously...’ a bit too often.
What do others find very annoying about you?
That I have little patience. In my head, I am often already at the next thing while I am still busy with something else. That can be quite annoying if you are talking to me. I am working on it and believe me… if the conversation is interesting enough, I really do pay attention, but my attention span is just not that big.
What is your biggest addiction?
My life consists of addictions! I am a bit black/white. I either think something is completely awesome, or I think something is completely nothing. I am addicted to sushi, I eat it three or four times a week (super easy!), I was addicted to Nutella for a while, then I would finish a jar every three days. Before that, I had an Oreo addiction, when I would eat a roll of Oreos in a day. Okay, food is quite a big addiction. But running is too, if I can't run for a week, I am unbearable (really!).
Most used excuse?
Honestly, I am very bad at making excuses. I am the type that is just a bit too honest. Excuses never really work for me and because most of my private life is online, it is also difficult to maintain them.
What do you do when you're home alone and no one can see you?
Dancing, or something that has to go for it, in front of the mirror. In my underwear and sports bra. With music from Taylor Swift, Britney Spears, and the Backstreet Boys. I have all kinds of playlists on Spotify ‘No shame in my game’ ‘There’s still no shame in my game’ and ‘I don’t think there’ll ever be shame in my game’. I can really go wild on that. I often put my iPod earbuds in because I don’t want to subject my neighbors to this.
