DJ duo Charlie Stripe made a big impression during their performance at the festival Georgies Wundergarten and they are generally doing really well. Is it silly if I say they also look really good? Yes, right? Moreover, that's not what it's about, it's about their secret pleasures and delights, so let's quickly move on to those important matters.
What song do you secretly sing in the shower?
Mick: “Barbara Keith with All Along the Watchtower (Rayko edit).”
Pieter: “I can't sing, not even secretly.”
What is your biggest pointless irritation?
Mick: “When Pieter loses his passport again while we're already at the airport or when he arrives late for a gig, while I've already started alone. All pointless irritations, because he's never going to learn it anyway.”
Pieter: “I mainly get annoyed by Mick when he gets irritated again.”
Do you have an obsession?
Mick: “A bit strange but I fidget with the bottom of my shirt all day. Because of my ADHD, I can't sit still anyway and if I start drumming on the table all day, everyone goes crazy from me. That fidgeting is my silent outlet.”
Pieter: “I can't really think of anything right off the bat. I'm generally quite mellow.”
Do you have an embarrassing hobby?
Mick: “I love sculpting, also known as clay modeling. Nice to have my hands in the mess.”
Pieter: “I regularly go to the cinema alone.”
Do you ever tell a little white lie?
Mick: “Yes, of course, almost everyone does that.”
Pieter: “I do believe in karma, but when it comes to good intentions, mine are good. So I can live with that.”
What is your biggest addiction?
Mick: “The green Fisherman’s Friend and I can talk long or short about it, but I can't do without cigarettes.”
Pieter: “The pumpkin seeds in a pepita nut mix and salty sticks. I wouldn't know how to do without them.”
Do you have a hidden talent?
Mick: “I'm trying to get off the ground as a product designer, but right now we're so busy with our own company Chasing the Hihat that I hardly find time for this.”
Pieter: “Well, whether you can really call it a hidden talent, I don't know, but I've been playing the flute since I was six. I rehearse four times a week, but I actually never have performances.”
