Amayzine

Our Amayzine friend Fred is of course actually one big guilty pleasure, but when he visited the editorial office this week, I wanted to check if there were perhaps things we didn't know about him. And yes, that turned out to definitely be the case...

Do you have a hidden talent?

“No, I don't think so. I fully utilize all the talents I have, it's such a shame not to do it. I can lip-sync very well, although that's not so hidden.”

Which movie do you always cry at?

“Beaches with Bette Midler. A heartbreaking story with a lot of crying towards the end. Out loud, with a lot of noise too. And preferably I record it to listen back later.”

Biggest pointless irritation?

“I can't stand it when the zippers of jackets are open. I find that really very annoying and if I see a jacket pocket or something with a zipper open on someone, I will really close it.”

Do you have an obsession?

“Yeah, do you have a moment? I really have a lot of obsessive-compulsive disorders. But what I do at least is say goodbye to all my things when I leave for a longer time, for work or on vacation for example. Then I see a really cool painting hanging and I say; ‘goodbye painting!’, but once I start that, I have to say goodbye to all the other objects in that room too. And that really takes forever, so sometimes I just do a whole room, “goodbye room!”, and then on to the next. Otherwise, it’s impossible.”

Which item in your wardrobe cannot stand the light of day?

“I bought a pair of jeans from Dsquared years ago that was really extremely expensive. As a joke, there’s a very large penis print at the crotch, really vulgar. I never wear it and I don’t understand anymore why I even bought it, but I still can’t throw it away.‘

Biggest addiction?

“My phone is definitely my biggest addiction and I would like it to be a bit less. Recently when we were filming for Holland’s Next abroad, I lost it. I really went CRAZY, like totally.‘

Favorite calorie bomb?

“Colored Mentos. Within five seconds, I’ve finished that whole roll. Or actually, I finish five rolls in one second.”

What is your biggest superficial turn-off?

“Clothing. I can really be turned off by that, if someone is wearing the wrong socks, I’m out.”
