HOE JE JE HAAR DOET

– the tomb raider –

You know that the ponytail is super trendy. But with a simple hair tie, you can easily get away with it. You can keep that ease, but not that simple look. Estella from The Building AMS explains in a few steps how to create the coolest ponytail of the moment. You know it; it's the Tomb Raider ponytail. Only this time, it's really the 2015 version that is both very sexy and tough at the same time.

Sectioning, applying, and pulling tight
As the first step, you section off the front from the back. Just by making a small bun for a moment. With gel, you ‘apply’ the bottom of your hair. This way, you take small sections from the back until everything is nicely and neatly applied and combed through. This way, you can create an extremely tight ponytail.

Hair extensions
I can imagine that you don't have extremely long hair yourself. Do you? Then you can skip this step. But for the Tomb Raider, you do need a long ponytail. So, a little secret helper is perfectly fine to use. You attach this to the ponytail before you grab the front part.

The front part
Now you have an extremely tight ponytail, but you still need to grab the front section. You actually do this in exactly the same way. So, apply gel to the front of your hair, comb it neatly, and then pull that section very tightly to the ponytail. With a strand of hair, you now twist it around the ponytail. No hair tie and no visible start of the extensions anymore. Use a u-pin to secure that strand.

Twisting
The ponytail is now left over. You divide it into two and twist them together. Now I know what you're thinking: it will sag again, but if you twist it very tightly and secure it well afterwards, it will definitely stay in place.

Ribbon
Finishing touch: the ribbon. I mean, no ribbon, no Tomb Raider look. You secure the ribbon at the top of the ponytail and twist it around the ponytail just like the previous step. Secure the bottom with a bow. Voilá. Good to go.
