HOW TECH SAVES YOUR RELATIONSHIP

Yesterday we talked about ways your smartphone is a disaster for love and romance, but there is also a lot of good to say about modern technology. We are not for nothing totally intertwined with our phone and that is a godsend in the following situations.

The long-distance relationship

Yes, try to maintain that without a smartphone. Even when one travels a lot, it is crucial. FaceTime, Skype, WhatsApp, living far apart and having a relationship cannot happen without the internet. Isn't it wonderful that people can live on the other side of the world and still see each other every evening via FaceTime?

Tinder and Happn

Say what you want about it, I know quite a few very happy relationships that started through Tinder or Happn. And if they aren't happy relationships, they were at least successful one-night stands, and that is worth something too.

Social media flirt

For months I had a social media flirt with a ridiculously handsome guy. We didn't know each other, but we were very skilled at liking each other's photos, posting ambiguous comments, and having endless chat sessions via the DM feature on Twitter. It was really mega exciting.

Your booty call

Yes hello! Your booty call! How are you supposed to reach that without a phone!? By the way, actual calling has now been replaced by messaging, but it all comes down to the same thing.

Uber gallantry

I find it so charming when your date orders an Uber on his phone for you afterwards, where you then elegantly step in while giving him a sizzling kiss, hanging over the door, to then zoom away. Only downside: he immediately knows your address, but oh well, that's just as well, because next time he can Uber to YOUR house.

WhatsApp

Is both a disadvantage and an advantage, but personally, I love long WhatsApp sessions. Can a man write a bit nicely? Then I am like wax in his hands. Also fun: sending each other photos. Of yourself, of where you are, of everything really. But no, NO, NO dick pics please. Thank you.
