Just give me tea

Facts and fables

Here in the editorial office, at least ten liters of tea are consumed every day. In addition, kilos of fresh ginger and mint. Then there are also hundreds of bags of rooibos, green tea, Moroccan, star mix flying around, and here and there you might find a box from Zonnatura that says: “for good bowel movements.” Yep, indeed, exactly what you think. But all those different types of flavors and herbs, huh? What do they actually do to you? I briefly dived into the world of tea.

 What is theine?

You can somewhat compare it to the caffeine in coffee. It gives you an uplifting feeling. I must honestly say that I never get that from coffee either, let alone from tea. It varies a bit from person to person.

Slimming down with green tea?

The internet is full of texts stating that you lose weight by drinking green tea. Now, I absolutely do not believe in that. Look, green tea is really good for you, but if you eat a bag of licorice every day on top of that, you won't lose weight. You need to exercise, adjust your diet, and then you will see a difference. Green tea can help a lot with that, but then do put down the cola and all fruit juices, okay?

Every day tea for good bowel movements

The shelves are full of it. Especially in health food stores. Tea that helps get your bowel movements going nicely. I mean: the kind that helps your bowel movements. I don't think it's meant for you to drink this every day. It really works, and the idea is that your body can do it itself and doesn't need a flood of tea every day. Your intestines can become lazy, and they can only work better if they get help. This can also lead to constipation. A cup now and then can really do no harm and can actually provide relief, but don't do this too often, because believe me: it is really NOT good for you and you won't get thin from it.

 Relaxing with rooibos

For a bit of relaxation, rooibos tea is always recommended. Perfect for going to sleep. It also contains a lot of antioxidants that neutralize free radicals. This is good for the body because neutralize free radicals. they can be harmful. They are electrically charged particles that can form in the body due to stress or aging, but can also enter through food, medication, or alcohol.

White tea

This tea is a bit softer than black and green tea. It consists of the youngest leaves of the tea plant that are picked before the buds open. Maybe not very exciting, but it's good to know that it really doesn't make a difference whether this tea is healthier than other teas. Only in terms of taste is there a difference, and it contains no theine.
