Cycling with Levi's

Jet may be the fit girl here, give me a bike and I suddenly become a fit girl too. Every day I cycle a total of about 15 kilometers to and from work, and rain, wind, or snow – nothing keeps me off the bike. I was extra happy that last Wednesday I got to try out the new Commuter Collection from Levi's together with the nicest bloggers and online editors in the country. Through a bike ride of 17 kilometers, right through Amsterdam. Doesn't sound fun? Think again, it was really the most fun ever.

That Commuter Collection is amazing. The idea that Levi's had is that they wanted to create a collection that is both very suitable for cycling and looks good. Changing clothes is no longer necessary; what you wear on the bike is the same as indoors. So said, so done, and after a men's line, there is now also a women's line. The jackets all have more room to move, are equipped with subtle reflective details, have a hood that stays put and doesn't always blow off annoyingly, and the back of the jacket is a bit longer so you don't end up with a builder's cleavage or display your bright pink lace thong. The pants also have reflective material on the inside of the legs, the pockets are deeper, they are higher at the waist, and, after extensive testing, I can say they fit incredibly well. Oh and my favorite: they are water-repellent so that rain shower is now something you can face with a smile.

As mentioned; we went out into the countryside. Together with among others Yara Michels (Chapter Friday), Sabrina Meijer (AfterDRK), Gabrielle (cosmopolitan.nl), Pauline Breeuwsma (vogue.nl), and Tara Vierbergen (bazaar.nl) we are going through the city. And we are not doing this on our own bikes, but on ridiculously cool bikes from Pure Fix Cycles. Everyone thought they were so beautiful that we all turned into little giggling schoolgirls who were bouncing with excitement to take that beautiful steel horse on the road. After we had put on the new Levi's collection and everyone had a bike, it was time to go. Admittedly, we shortened the original 17 kilometers a bit because it is quite freezing cold, but we still covered enough distance to get to know the bikes and collection well. By the way, my bike is called Blue Ivy, because you have to name such a treasure appropriately.

We finish off with gin tonics at the new restaurant Le Coq and then head home around 11:00 PM. But not before I went with Yara to the Central Station for an extra large lock. Because they can't take Blue Ivy away from me. Now there is also good news because you can also get such a beautiful bike and a Levi's outfit. Take a photo of yourself on a bike, post it on Instagram with the hashtag #MakeBikePortraits and tag @Levis_NL and @pfcycles. The best photo and thus the winner will be chosen on May 7th. So what are you waiting for! Then we will soon cycle beautifully through the city together.
