MAKE-UP

for dark skin

I already mentioned my great love for black hair. But to be honest, this love is not limited to hair, but also to skin. I just have ‘a thing’ for dark ladies. No wonder my favorite singers are India Arie and Jill Scott. So I asked the queen of make-up Amanda Rijff to, in this case, take off the blouse. Makeup artist Amanda is known for creating the ‘Flawless Face’ (just take a look) and she also has a beautiful tanned skin. here So Amanda, what should you pay attention to if you are blessed with a chocolate skin tone?.

“There are more than 260 shades in the tanned or dark skin. Often there are color differences in the facial skin. Think of a darker forehead and chin (sometimes a darker skin above the upper lip) and lighter colored cheeks. When choosing a foundation, it is important to match the color of the cheeks and cheekbones. Dark skin is often slightly oilier, so oil-free foundations or BB/CC creams work best.”

“What products do you recommend?”

“There are many products on the market for dark skin. Products made with dark skin in mind are often too heavy and contain too much red pigment. The guideline is to stick to a foundation with a yellow undertone. Unless you are very dark colored, a foundation with a red undertone works better.”

“A tanned skin matches best with…”

“Many colors look good on dark skin. From copper-colored eyeshadow and dark blue eyeliner to fuchsia and red lipstick. Bronzers also work particularly well on dark skin due to the healthy glow. A blush in a brown/pink tone works wonders for dark skin with a yellow undertone. Wine-colored cream blushes also work well, especially on very dark skin.”
