When I spotted Christel during our Amayzine (champagne included), I was exhausted on Saturday and still dead tired on Sunday. So I took Monday off and it was quite a party. I had slept in that weekend, so on that Monday I got up pretty early (half past 9) and did whatever I felt like all day. with this mega cool Balenciaga City Bag, it naturally called for a My Life in a Bag. Christel is busy with fashion and the latest trends every day, as she is the brand manager of the watch brand Marc Coblen and therefore loves bags.

Tell me, how many bags do you have?

“A lot. But really all sorts of things. I have two ‘real’ bags, including this amazing Balenciaga City Bag. Besides that, many clutches (also from beautiful brands, including Marc Jacobs and Chloé), handy shoppers, and sports and beach bags.”

What does a bag do for a woman?

“I often hear: wow, your bag is heavy. We women want to have a lot with us, so a bag is essential. But in general, just like with cars (you might think: ‘this sounds a bit superficial’), you can tell what kind of person someone is by their bag.”

What about the contents? Are you a chaotic person or neatly organized?

“My ideal image is neat and organized, but this doesn't always work. I do have many small bags in my large bag, because I don't like a lot of loose items. After a week, it is still always a big mess, but then I do clean it out immediately.‘ 

What do you always carry in your bag?

“My iPhone, wallet, pen, glasses, toiletry bag with makeup, perfume, and now for spring and summer a sunscreen and sunglasses. Then also always a small pouch with ‘junk items’ like: aspirins, Dextro, an extra set of lenses and always a set of watch straps from Marc Coblen. I go to many appointments for my work, but also privately I change the look of my watch every time.”

If a woman could only have one bag, which would it be?

“Then I would go for the always classy Hermès Birkin Bag. It has been beautiful for a thousand years and will always remain so. In black, taupe, or orange.”

And lastly; is there still one on your wishlist?

“No, not really. The blue color of this Balenciaga City Bag is also a true classic color, I can still go on with it for a while.”
