Martine is the kind of girl who eats, sleeps, and breathes fashion. She writes about fashion, talks about fashion, and buys fashion. And preferably as much as possible. The blonde freelance fashion editor has a wardrobe to die for, and aside from the fact that she is also very pleasant, it’s always a party to run into her and admire her new designer treasures. Today she tells us all about her favorite bag, a dark brown Mulberry Bayswater.
How many designer bags do you have?
Haha, unfortunately that's a count on one hand. I only have one. You can't really call me a true ‘bag girl’. There is a brand new one waiting for me, but I still have to be patient for a bit.
How did you get this beauty?
Received it from my boyfriend. A few days after the birth of our son, he came to bed with tears in his eyes to give me this bag. He knew that the Bayswater had been on my wish list for years. He always said: ‘That one will come.’ And he was right, I got it on a special day.
What does a bag like this mean to you?
A lot. My Mulberry is just like my son Mees three years old and has already seen quite a few countries and experienced a lot. Almost every day goes by with it dangling on my arm. It's my first designer bag and it just belongs to me.
What is always in your bag?
A pair of sunglasses (one of the 7 pairs I own), Eight Hour Cream by Elizabeth Arden (an absolute must), my iPhone 6 (just new), my wallet from my favorite brand Victoria Beckham, a bottle of Fiji Water, and gum.
Are you careful with your bags or secretly very messy?
At first, I could panic if someone just looked at it. Later I became easier. Maybe sometimes too much. I just got ‘my great love’ back from England. It was damaged and sent for repair. I was without it for eight weeks. Sob.
Which bag is still on your wish list?
The latest gem from Victoria Beckham: The City Victoria.
