Look, you can of course have a beer during a first date or interrogate each other for three courses in a fancy restaurant, but it can also be a bit more original. That way, in the case of a less pleasant guy, you are guaranteed to have a nice evening. So, first date on the horizon? Then suggest one of the suggestions below.
To the shooting range
Call a shooting range near you and ask if you can come by for a trial lesson. I once had a shooting range date and it was a great success. Because of the game element, the ice is almost immediately broken, you learn something together, it's quite exciting, and afterwards you smoothly transition from the debriefing into all sorts of other conversations.
Wine tasting
Because wine is just a lot of fun but this way it's just a bit more special. Just like with shooting, you don't have to carry everything yourself all evening but can listen to the wine expert, and afterwards you have plenty to talk about. And, of course, without spitting.
To the zoo
So romantic. A little walk through a park with cozy animals around you. I once had a date in Artis and it was a blast. It has something very relaxed, and walking often makes it easier to talk than sitting.
Having a pub crawl on a tandem
For when you've hooked a party animal. Rent a tandem, laugh your head off while trying to control that thing, and tear through the city from pub to pub. How boring and forced!
Bowling
Super cheesy of course, but that's exactly why it's so much fun. Personally, I would be medium happy with bowling because you have to wear those terrible shoes, but apart from that, it also applies here: a date with a game element is very fun.
Taking a winter walk
Also done once, walking through Vondelpark in the freezing cold, with a bottle of strong drink to stay warm. Snuggled up close to each other to keep warm, how romantic.
