You can still sit in the sun. Well, with an extra piece of fabric wrapped around. But that’s okay. The New York autumn is a fairytale. And there are all sorts of fun things happening. Like this for example:
Comic Con
The world-famous costume party from America is already in the starting blocks. But no Halloween takes place before Comic Con has happened. In other words, a festival from the pop world where you don’t have to, but certainly can show up as Batman or Superwoman. What’s there to do? Well, a lot. But most people come for the signing sessions of the stars from the Ninja Turtles, The X-Files, and Pretty Little Liars. Seth Meyers will be there to report. All in all, a gigantic sci-fi festival where most of the 151,000 visitors are mainly adults. In costumes. Great for people watching, so come see it. Or dress up yourself, of course, that’s also possible.
Apple picking
Autumn means apple picking. Besides visiting pumpkin farms, it’s definitely time to go apple picking again. In New York, various farms have opened their orchards to the public. Find them here.
Beer, beer, beer.
Octoberfest only in Europe? No, no. Even in New York, the barrels of beer, lederhosen, and sultry outfits where girls braid their hair have arrived. There are countless Octoberfest parties, but this I think this one is the most fun. And it’s coming up this weekend. Gesundheit!

A festival from the pop world where you don’t have to, but it’s totally okay if you want to dress up as Batman or Super Woman. And there are so many activities you can take part in. apple picking
It’s fall. And that means it’s time for apple picking. Pumpkin farms are usually very popular right before Halloween, but apple picking has become nearly just as popular. New York has plenty of farms with apple orchards grown specially for visitors. Find them here.
Beer, beer, beer.
Octoberfest a European thing? Absolutely not. Even New Yorkers can be found dressed up in lederhosen chugging down barrels of beer. There are an uncountable amount of October fest parties you can go to but I’m pretty sure this one is the most fun. Gesundheit!
