Last week we had Claire Slootheer, today it's Hilmar Mulder's turn, editor-in-chief of ELLE. Hilmar, take it away…

Who were you a huge fan of when you were younger?

Diana Ross – that her, that sound, that clothing. A dream of a diva for a pre-teen girl. I had one LP of hers, I played it until it was worn out, especially after my best friend's older brother gave his sign of approval .

What is your biggest addiction?

Currently the cranberry nut mix from Albert Heijn. I eat one bag a day. Besides that, I also enjoy daydreaming about offers from Ticketspy.

Favorite bad calorie bomb?

Spreadable sausage from Unox from a can on a fresh slice of bread. Not calorically rich enough? Then the homemade mashed potatoes from my love with fluffy potatoes, whole milk, butter, and an egg. So not that stale cardboard from a package.

Which magazine do you read in secret?

No secret in it, almost everything can be categorized as professional deformation, keeping up with the industry, professional knowledge in general or competition research in particular. But people are sometimes surprised that I enjoy reading Historia.

Do you have a hidden talent?

It has turned out that I can bake quite a nice cake, especially for an amateur. A KitKat cake, a Charlotte Russe, lemon pie or Pavlova; I don't shy away from it (see my Instagram account).

Which book in your shelf should no one see?

Fifty shades of grey – I've read them all. Because yes, you need to know what moves those millions of women.

What is your biggest mistake purchase?

A fourth-hand Citroën Visa for 2000 guilders that, thanks to a Roadside Assistance subscription, stayed suspiciously long in motion. But don't ask how. Or do you mean in terms of fashion? Well then, a coat from Costume National scores very high. One of my first online purchases. Worn a maximum of three times. Because too big, too clumsy and well, everything that comes with a bad purchase. Just not Hilmar.
