LOOKING FORWARD TO SPRING
– the most beautiful make-up collections –
I am really looking forward to spring. Not only because I can finally take that godforsaken hat off my head, but also because there are so many beautiful make-up collections ready. All brands are showcasing and turning every look into a cheerful scene. So let that spring start very soon, because to actually use all that beauty, you need some time and you enjoy it even more.
Inspiration: The collection from Givenchy is inspired by a never-ending childhood. Because in spring everyone is cheerful, playful, you prefer to eat bubble gum and ice cream, and a jump rope is also quite fun to pick up again. The colors vary quite a bit, but cheerfulness and sparkle are central. The colors green, purple, pink, orange, and yellow are all represented.
Highlights: I think I will wear a different color on my nails every day this summer, because even with this collection, the colors are way too cool. I mention a bright yellow and a sweet pink. But well, I haven't even talked about the blush yet. It's really very cool. The box has all kinds of speckles (I mean speckles from an ice cream) and the blush is actually a pressed wildflower bouquet. Sounds very derogatory now, but a wildflower bouquet is of course the most beautiful thing there is.
Inspiration: Not entirely surprising, but also Clarins has been inspired by a garden that is growing and blooming. So yes, here too you see the colors soft pink and green returning in the collection. The looks in terms of boxes are gold as always, but as we are used to from Clarins, the products themselves have an incredibly beautiful texture. The eyeshadows have beautiful flower shapes pressed into them and the blush is divided into 3D sections.
Highlights: The eyeshadow palette is a must-have. The colors have the perfect pigments that allow you to create a beautiful shine on your eyes. Furthermore, I also find the new product ‘Lip Comfort Oil’ a nice addition. It's a gloss, but with a nourishing effect. Oh, and with a flavor and scent of honey and raspberry, you really carry that spring with you always.
Inspiration: Last year, Collistar had that amazing collaboration with Antonio Marras. It was a hit because it was a super cool collection. For the new collection, they are collaborating with the design brand Kartell. They have home items and are known for transparent design, such as chairs and lamps. The Collistar X Kartell collection is therefore also inspired by that transparency and carries that name. Of course, this doesn't mean that all the products are transparent, but the packaging is. And the rest of the collection is just as sunny and cheerful as all the designs from Kartell.
Highlights: The nail polishes from Collistar are always very nice. Beautiful colors, fun bottles, and they look incredibly cheerful. Additionally, I also recommend the eyeshadows. Each eyeshadow consists of three colors in a cool design box. They always have a nice pigment, and you can apply them dry and wet for the desired result. Furthermore, I also find the Face and Fecollete Illuminator oil a highlight from the collection. It comes in a very cool bottle, where when you shake it, all the glitters, pink and orange, are mixed together and create a cocktail. This oil also gives a very beautiful shiny effect on the skin. Moreover, it smells fresh and summery, so the bottle beautifully captures summer in color and scent.
Inspiration: When you think of Chanel, you think of Paris. So yes, that's where the inspiration comes from again. Paris in spring, when all the parks are a bit green again, is at its most beautiful. Fresh green and blooming roses by a fountain; CHANEL gathers the most beautiful and chicest of the city in a refreshing collection.
Highlights Together, all that inspiration creates a collection with many shades of pink and coral. Pearls from the collection are of course Les Quatres Ombres, the blush that you actually never want to break into because of the amazing texture, floral print, and of course the nail polishes. Because those nail polishes and their colors, CHANEL is the queen of.
Inspiration: Lancôme also chooses spring in Paris as inspiration. Here too, you see the colors of soft green and soft pink in the palettes and everything is further dressed in a very illustrative jacket. Cute little drawings of the highlights of Paris can be seen on each item, giving the collection a particularly high this-I-want-to-have factor.
Highlights The nail polishes are very cool, the greenish color is very innovative, and the beige color remains an all-time favorite. Hthe eyeshadow palette is definitely a favorite of mine. Because of the box, but also because of the enormous range of colors, you can create a paradise on your eyes.
Inspiration: Dior opens the gates of its wealth with this collection. Lots of color, very fresh and sparkling, and a touch inspired by color blocking. That's quite something new compared to the previous collection from DIOR, because that was very pastel and light.
Highlights: The limited edition eyeshadow palette is one of the jewels of the collection. With mint green and peach color combined with silver and black, it's an incredibly cool combination. The nail polishes are extremely Easter-proof. Especially the topcoat with green and yellow matte glitters is quite cool.
Inspiration: The ‘lightness of being collection’ from MAC Cosmetics translates the calm side of the brand. They are Mineralize products and the looks are also ‘back to basic’. As if the cable knit sweater (which you don't wear in spring, but so be it), is packed in a box.
Highlights: All products naturally have the most beautiful pigments again, but especially the shape of the products is very beautiful. MAC is always very good at that, but this time the brand has outdone itself again.
