Advertorial
I email my grandma every day (yes, emailing, yes, she from her iPad). She reads all my pieces first, so she always lets me know and she is always brutally honest. The words “quite” and “you know” she really hammered into me. And she's right. Sometimes I email her again with a question about a recipe because she is simply the best cook (together with my mother) that exists. You should flip through her cookbooks; on every page, you see food splatters, little notes (“not so much salt as it says!” for example) and sometimes there is a white sheet in between on which the dish is drawn. She can do that incredibly well too. You could actually call her super grandma.
Last week I was treated at the office to four packs of non-carbonated Lipton Ice Tea, with the new flavor Lipton Ice Tea Red Fruits. An ice tea with the taste of cranberries, raspberries, and blackberries. Excellent with this weather, it seems to me. I email grandma asking what fun things I could do with this. A lovely glass for thirst, but now that summer is coming and quite a few parties are planned in my garden, I am experimenting a lot with cocktails. And not with too much sugar, you know me. And grandma knows me too.
It works out well, because in all non-carbonated Lipton Ice Teas there is 30% less sugar. That makes me happy. “How about a pinch of cardamom?” “And what do you think of strawberries with freshly ground pepper?” I started testing, found it tasty, but not spectacular yet. After emailing back and forth, grandma and I came up with this summer drink with Lipton Ice Tea Red Fruits. For all the non-alcoholic cocktails that I always share with you: you can of course also add a splash of vodka.
Here's what you need and how to make it:
Lipton Ice Tea Red Fruits
mandarin
lime
ginger
cinnamon
ice cubes
a nice glass and a straw
The mandarins that are in the store now are super sweet, so that's good news. Squeeze one into a glass, add a small piece of peeled ginger and a bit of cinnamon. Stir it all together. Now add a stack of ice cubes and fill up with the Lipton Ice Tea Red Fruits.
Then on the rim a slice of lime that you can also mix into the drink later. Make sure this drink is served ice cold.
Enjoy!
