Anouk is an online queen, knows how to pull the best outfit out of the closet day after day, is pregnant with baby number 1, and is just a really nice person. We asked her about her week and weekend, so read along quickly.

Tell me, how is the pregnancy going? Are you already counting down?

“The pregnancy is going well. The past few months have flown by. It's strange with three moves, one overseas back to the Netherlands. Currently, I am in my 35st week and I notice little by little that I need to take it a bit easier. The baby is really a little troublemaker and I have a big bruise because of it. Yes, I am indeed counting down now.”

And is the nursery ready? Where is it located?

“Oh dear, unfortunately nothing is ready. Due to our situation – My boyfriend Jos is a footballer and is waiting for a new contract – we could get a relieving phone call at any moment. So we are consciously leaving everything in boxes. Not very ideal for the little one, but they say they don't need much at a young age except for a lot of love, and we have that covered.”

Almost weekend! Have you had a busy week?

“Yes, a very busy one. I am currently turning my business upside down and kicking. Crazy timing just before this important event, but it's one that I fully support. On July 15, we are launching a new version of creatorsofdesire.com and along with it a new strategy. Quite challenging with all those pregnancy-related things, but we will manage.”

When (what time) do you kick off the weekend today? And what does that look like?

“On Fridays, I always take the afternoon off. Then I like to sit on the terrace with an iced tea or Bionade – previously it was wine, but that's a bit tricky when you're pregnant. I must honestly admit that I really crave a glass of wine, just a little more patience.”

What is your favorite weekend outfit? Do you dress differently now with your baby bump?

“I still dress exactly the same. I'm lucky that my belly is modest and I can still fit into many things. A nice boyfriend jeans, a tight top, a white blouse, cute sandals, just nice and casual with a good bag on my arm.”

What does your ideal Sunday look like? Anything goes!

“Now that I live in the Netherlands again: Netflix – all day long. In London, we always went for brunch on Sundays and to the food market on Brick Lane. I miss my Sundays in London.”

You seem to travel a lot back and forth, don't you?

“I travel a lot. Even within the Netherlands. Currently, we are temporarily living in Groningen, but my work in the Netherlands takes place in Amsterdam. So I regularly spend 400KM a day in the car with my 35-week belly. You get used to it. Luckily, I can't fly for a while. I'm glad about that because Schiphol has been my second home lately.”

Where do you feel most at home?

“In the Netherlands, although London has changed me. A day in London lasts 12 hours. Time flies by there. I need to learn to find my peace in the Netherlands again. I quickly find things boring and annoying. Not necessarily a nice trait that I have retained from our adventure in London.”

Where do you find peace, time, and inspiration?

“Peace and time are two difficult things at the moment, and then a little one is also on the way.

We are busy with so many things at once: the baby, my business, setting up another business, our house that is currently being built and where you need to keep your head clear, and then possibly moving to another strange place abroad. You can imagine that I find my peace, time, and inspiration by completely isolating myself from all the external chaos. Easier said than done. I notice that I am becoming quieter, haha.”

What kind of music do you listen to on the weekend?

“Spotify playlists (Princes by Oscar and the Wolf is so nice) and very bizarre but Sky radio-like evening tunes (like Chris de Burgh) make me calm.”

What do you have in your glass with this warm weather? Do you have a favorite non-alcoholic drink?

“I totally embrace the soft drink hype. Here in Groningen, there are a number of super fun new places that specialize in biodrinks. Elderflower Bionade, Rhubarb biodrink, and Fritz Kola. A trend in Germany and I completely understand it. Delicious and especially not too sweet.”

What time does your alarm clock go off again on Monday?

“I get up every morning at 7:00, weekend or not. I am most productive in the mornings.”
