We all know the website NSMBL, but perhaps not the brilliant mind behind it. The beautiful Anna Nooshin. Fashion girl and now also a writer. Her book On Top will be launched on April 23, but is already available for purchase via bol.com. She has been very busy, so we were curious if she could rest a bit this weekend. 

Anna, something very exciting is coming up. Your book is hitting the market in April. It's probably a bit different than what people expect from you?

Yes, I think so. It's very different from what people are used to from me. I've been working for quite a few years and I'm increasingly showing myself from a different side. That's important in the industry I'm in. I've had many conversations about the direction of the book, but I consciously chose a super personal story. My own thoughts and how I see things. I even went back ten years in visual material. That's of course very different from the photos I post on Instagram. But women are not always perfect. It has become a cool story and I think very recognizable for many women. Women who want to start their own business, but there are also just love stories in there. I'm really looking forward to it!

Do you think it's important for people to see the other side of you as a fashion person?

Very important. The industry is going to change. People are getting more of a need to see real things. Sometimes we need a reality check. I show how it can also be done. I find that very important for myself. Staying grounded in the fashion world.

Why did you want to bring this story to the public? Was there a moment when you thought: now I'm going to do it.

I wanted to write a book for a long time. At some point, it just felt right. If I had done it earlier, it wouldn't have worked, I was at a very different point with NSMBL. Now I have more experience and it felt like a logical and natural step.

How did the idea come about? Did you think about it for a long time?

Two years ago, I started thinking about which direction the book should take. I always wanted to write a book. Two years ago I started thinking about which direction. At first, I thought about fashion, but that's been done so much. That's why I wanted something personal. About my journey to the top.

And the launch. Any idea how and where that will take place?

And what you will wear? Because hé, that's of course also important.

The launch is on April 23. I have a collaboration with a major media title, but I won't reveal more. What I will wear, no idea! I usually dress quite basic, but for the launch, I want to go all out. I just don't know how yet.

You've been busier than usual in recent months. Was it all a bit too much to combine with NSMBL?

Absolutely! My main concern is that NSMBL always goes well. Fortunately, I have a great team that handles everything super well. During Christmas, I wrote the book and I had a very good plan, so everything went well.

What do the coming weeks look like? Besides the launch, are there any exciting things planned?

I always find it silly when people say this, but it really is very busy and hectic in the coming weeks. There are 15 projects around the book that still need to be finished, for example, the design. In addition, I'm also going abroad a lot. Including Paris, Hong Kong, and Peru.

It's Friday. How does your weekend start? With a drink and a snack?

I don't drink alcohol anymore, so definitely no alcoholic drink. My Friday is always reserved for an evening with my two best friends, but due to all the chaos, I haven't seen my mother in a long time. That's why we're having dinner with my mother tonight, just the three of us. Can't wait!

What do your Saturday and Sunday look like?

I probably have to work, but if I finish everything, I might go to Antwerp tomorrow. So I'm really hoping I don't have to work tomorrow.

What does a fashion girl wear on the weekend?

At the moment, I'm wearing a black one-piece with leopard socks, but with a cashmere scarf. On the weekend, I like to wear the same looks as during the week but with more exciting shoes, for example.

What gives you the ultimate weekend feeling?

For me, it's really Friday with my two best friends. Then I know the workweek is over. But I also love Sunday. Then I can enjoy a brunch.

Suppose you don't have to consider anything and practical things like balance, time difference don't matter. What does your ideal weekend look like?

Then I'm going to Bali! Just a quick trip. Friday there and then eat shrimp somewhere. On Saturday and Sunday, I enjoy the sun and the pool at my private villa. Sounds wonderful.

Last question. Too bad! What time does the alarm go off on Monday?

On Monday, the alarm goes off very early. At 7 o'clock. I find that very early. At 8 o'clock, I train with my trainer and then I have a shooting day for NSMBL YouTube from 10 to 2. Then I have to go to Eindhoven for a session with my designer for the book until late at night. On Tuesday, I'm flying to Hong Kong again. Very busy!
