Our dear friend Carolien Spoor and her fiancé Jon Karthaus have not had a moment's rest in the past few months. A house that was completely renovated and the film Homies. Jon directed this and it comes out in theaters on January 22. We were curious about their stories and how they celebrate the weekend. Would they finally have time to relax?

The premiere of Homies is on January 19. Any idea what you will wear on the red carpet?

Carolien: ‘I happened to try on a beautiful outfit from Dorhout Mees yesterday. Now I just need to choose accessories and shoes, and then I'll be completely ready. Jon is going to get a suit fitted at Suitsupply with the other actors.’

Jon, we are very curious. What is your film about?

‘The film is about four completely normal guys who suddenly come into contact with the underworld. The Russian mafia wants them to sell a suitcase with 22 kilos of cocaine within one week. If they fail, they will be made smaller and then they fall from one problem into another. You can read more information on www.homiesdefilm.nl and photos can be seen with #homiesdefilm.’

Carolien, did you find it difficult to act in a film directed by Jon?

‘No, actually it went really well. We could both switch gears on set immediately, and then we were no longer a couple, but actress and director. It went so smoothly that it makes you want more!’

What about after the premiere, do you have a bit of rest then?

Carolien: ‘Yes, finally we have a bit of rest. I just finished filming for the new series Zwarte Tulp, which will be on television starting in March, so we can now relax after all the hard work.’

The renovation of your house is now completely finished. Is there anything you really miss and would like to have?

Carolien: ‘We really want a rooftop terrace! The permit is now in, but so much money has already been spent on the renovation that we really need to save for a while.’

How do you kick off the weekend this week?

Carolien: ‘We start Friday with a lovely dinner at Vis aan de Schelde with my dear friend Marly and her boyfriend. Their little one will be there too.’

Jon: ‘On Saturday, I will very boringly do my paperwork, because that also needs to be done. On Sunday, I have a very nice family dinner with my whole family.’

What kind of music is listened to on the weekend?

Carolien: ‘Nowadays, we really enjoy listening to a playlist on Spotify with only soul and classical music. It's wonderful to come home and flop down on the couch with mellow music in the background. Our favorite song at the moment is Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars.’

What does your ideal weekend look like if you don't have to consider anything and if money and time are no object?

Carolien: ‘I would definitely spend one day getting all kinds of delicious things at home and then chill on the couch in sweatpants with Jon and enjoy the space. In the evening, I really enjoy having a long and elaborate dinner. Preferably in a fancy restaurant like Rijsel.’

Jon: ‘I really like Maastricht, so I would go there with Carolien to eat at Beluga and spend the night in a hotel with a spa where we can enjoy a massage. That on one day, and the next day I would charter a flight to a St. Barths-like island.’

What time does the alarm go off on Monday?

Carolien: ‘On Monday, my alarm goes off around 8 o'clock. I have some appointments for the house and also an interview for Homies.’

Jon: ‘I will probably also get up around that time because I need to take a suit to the dry cleaner, and in the afternoon I need to be home because someone from UPC is coming by. In the evening, we have something fun planned, namely a premiere.’
