She was the face of the Prada campaign, worked with Steven Meisel, and walked the A-list fashion shows. To make it all even more beautiful, complete, and grand, she was launched this week as the face of Chance Eau Tendre by Chanel. And let that also be my favorite perfume. Or well, one of them.

Lieke, it must have been so difficult to keep this from you. Did you call around, like; “I am the new face of Chanel” or was a Facebook post enough?

No, a Facebook post was sufficient. After that, I received one message after another. So everyone was quickly informed.

Tell, tell, tell. How did it all come about and how was the shoot?

I was in LA when I got the call that eight girls were invited for a casting for the Chanel campaign. Then I flew to New York and then to Paris. My booker prepared me well for the campaign and explained what it would entail. They were very enthusiastic very quickly, and shortly after that, I received a message that I had been chosen along with three other girls! The shoot was in Paris and was very fun and went very quickly.

The buzz probably didn't last long because then a lot of jobs came your way again. What did this week look like, for example?

This week I am in the Netherlands and mainly working at SuperTrash. Tomorrow I have to work there again, but I always enjoy doing jobs for them. I have no idea where I will be next week. Maybe in New York, who knows.

Are you already platinum for life with your Flying Blue points?

No, almost silver! So I am well on my way.

Your agency Micha Models is going like crazy. You, Bregje Heijnen, Maartje Verhoef… What’s the secret?

Micha knows so much about the modeling world and is aware of everything. She knows what is possible and what is not. You could actually say that she is a kind of model mom for us. She makes sure we feel happy and good.

And now it’s Friday and you’re going to have a weekend. Or not? Do you have that Thank God It’s Friday feeling or is life for you a series of fun things and adventures?

Today I have to work, but I will be done very early. So I will probably go shopping in Amsterdam, which I am really looking forward to. After that, I will go home to relax. Unfortunately, I have to work again tomorrow, so I don’t really have a weekend.

So you’re going to do nothing tonight. Do you do that with a glass of wine?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. It completely depends on what mood I’m in.

Suppose you can fill the weekend exactly as you want. Time, jet lag, work, money: it all doesn’t matter. What would you do, where, and with whom are you?

Wow, I need to think about that. I would probably take my dad, mom, boyfriend, sister, and her son to New York. Then I can show them where I am when I call them. I would take them to the Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building – although I don’t know if my mom would go, she has a fear of heights – and to Ground Zero. I would also love to take a helicopter ride with my dad.

What do you read and listen to?

I listen to all kinds of things. From hip hop to pop. As for books, I prefer to read thrilling books. I finished the book ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ very quickly.

And as a model, you probably still do a little workout here and there. Do you have any tips and suggestions?

No, I don’t do workouts. Bad, right? I can eat whatever I want. My sister looks like that too, and she already has a child. It is a good resolution for me to improve my fitness.

Finally, what time does your alarm go off on Monday again?

On Monday I don’t know yet, because I have no idea what awaits me next week. If I have to work, I get up around 5:30/6 o'clock, and if I’m free, around 10 o'clock.
