The 8 hair trends you can't miss

– Spring Look 2015 –

Yes, I really know that we are still wearing hats at the moment. But it's certainly not premature to take a little peek at the trends for spring. Hair-wise, that is, because there are some fun things coming up. Of course, you can choose to visit the hairdresser if you're already feeling the spring vibes, but it's also perfectly fine to do it at home in front of the mirror. It’s all about the styling. Let me catch you up. This week we will cover all the trends and starting next week, teacher Josselin will give you lessons on each trend. How to do it, what you need, and also what you shouldn't do to avoid missing the trend. That’s next week. First, let’s line up those fun eight.

Last season, CHANEL and Valentino already showed how it should be done. A simple ponytail. Actually, it wasn't simple at all, because it hung down so perfectly that a straightener must have been used. This season, you will see the ponytail again, but in a refreshing way. At Prada, Stella McCartney, and Alexander Wang, it comes back in different styles. Either very sporty, or combined with a wet look, or a bit looser and more casual. So it’s still there. But innovative. Well, new season.

We have already seen the middle parting, but this time the hair hangs loose and is neatly tucked behind the ears. The ears are allowed to be seen.

No middle parting? Then go for the side parting. This is often worn loosely, casually. You can see it, but the rest of the hair is also worn very casually. Nothing behind the ears, then. And volume is also a code word.

We already knew the healthy wave, but it seems like the waves have become just a bit smaller. More like the effect you have when you've slept with two braids in. Oops, now I immediately reveal how to create that look. Anna Sui and Emilio Pucci are definitely good at it.

Last season we saw the ballerina bun. Now those ballerina buns have grown into true works of art. They can remain small buns, but there can also be a few more on the head. One is not necessary; you can also choose two or three. And they can also be artistically twisted together. Not casual, but as if they are knotted.

I am really very happy that we are not done with the necessary braiding yet. On the contrary, it is booming. Small braids, large Elsa braids, or multiple African braids, there are countless combinations possible. Seen at the shows of Michael Kors, Giorgio Armani, and Jeremy Scott.

What you see a lot this season is the wet look, which we already knew, but now just a bit healthier. So no dirty strands hanging down the face, but the wet look is now nicely combed back and the ends are left ‘undone’. They have nothing greasy or wet-look-ish about them.

For the ultimate vacation feeling, you will work with flowers and shells in the hair, because Valentino and Dolce & Gabbana show that you can't escape having some accessories in your hair. But in a responsible way (you don't have to become Myriam from Goede Tijden Slechte Tijden), so with loose hair and perfectly polished.
