The magic of the Holiday Pop-Up

From Gwyneth Paltrow's Valentino jackets to sparkling diamonds for a dream price, you'll find them here for a moment in New York...

In Soho, I sip a pineapple-passionfruit-ginger-strawberry juice on Sunday. And besides the fact that it's unnaturally warm (around 18+ degrees) in the heart of December, something else stands out: the pop-up. Of course, ‘flash retailing’ has been familiar in New York for years, but I have the feeling that this holiday season the number of pop-ups has exploded. Everywhere I discover gigantic nice pop-ups and my agenda is quite filled with weekday parties in honor of these temporary firms.

Thus, it seemed like a good idea to line up the very best for you. I mean, the pop-up is the perfect place for haphazard Christmas gifts that often come with huge pleasant discounts.

Goop Mrkt

10 Columbus Circle

Gwyneth Paltrow's Goop is finally in New York. With brands ranging from mega expensive to mega affordable, the pop-up Goop Mrktis a fashion party for everyone. And at Goop Mrkt, you can also find Goop x Valentino. This Wonder Woman Valentino collection is a fashion fairy tale. So definitely pop into this pop-up, even if it's just to look (and dream) and sip a Matcha tea in the it-café of the moment: Chalait.

AUrate

109 Bedford Avenue, Williamsburg

“Fine jewelry for a fine price,” that's AUrate. Minimalistic, edgy, of high quality and at a very reasonable price. I am a big fan of the jewelry designed by two true power women. And I'm not the only one, as AUrate has been declared the coolest jewelry brand in New York by Rachel Zoe (http://thezoereport.com/people/influencers/aurate/). The items are all winners for under the tree, and AUrate donates a book to underprivileged children in New York with every purchase. Look, that fits with Christmas.

Love Stories Intimates

240 Mulberry Street

With my Dutch roots, I am of course incredibly proud of Dutch glory that takes on the adventure and makes the big leap. Love Stories is one of the most beautiful in the field of lace bralets, shorts, and stunning accessories. And this December they opened on Mulberry Street. ‘You can't miss it,’ is the command. Especially the gentlemen; here you will undoubtedly succeed for the girl.

Suite Stuff

228B Columbus Avenue

We all have one; the creative one, also known as the quirky friend. And for her, you need to go to Suite Stuff. This pop-up is filled to the brim with delightful knick-knacks from the historical collection of hotels and other well-known locations. Some are new, others are used, but everything has something unique and a wonderfully high trinket factor.
