The most beautiful and fun beauty books

om te hebben en te houden

Actually, I quite like books. When I'm lying on the beach, I can finish two in a day. Unfortunately, that's only once a year, and the rest of the year I actually don't read any books. Looking at more pictures, I'm also very good at that. Now I have a favorite book, which I've already quoted a few times, but besides that, I've made a little list of books that are definitely must-haves and keepers. A few to browse through and a few to read. But above all, to draw a lot of inspiration from.

Karen van Ede is not just any beauty editor. She is the Netherlands' biggest and writes for various magazines including Vogue. Ask her anything and she really knows everything. May once wrote an incredibly fun book for children with her, but now Karen has released her own book with all her expertise. It is a complete reference work with everything you need to know about your skin and skincare. Of course, with very nice photos and tips that allow you to bring out the best in yourself.

Skin, by Karen van Ede, € 16,99

The book has been around for a while, but Bobbi Brown's vision is fortunately still the same. Bringing out the best in yourself by highlighting just a few small points. It doesn't have to be so crazy and grand. And by looking good and feeling good, you can feel like a real power woman. Sounds silly, but hey, that's what we want.

Pretty Powerful, by Bobbi Brown, $ 22.46 via Amazon.com

This is exactly the kind of book that you never want to take off the table. It's just too beautiful for that. Guido Palau works for designers like Calvin Klein, Alexander Wang, and Marc Jacobs, so he knows what works best and looks the most beautiful. He loves being influential. It comes off a bit arrogant, but look at the book and you'll agree.

Hair, by Guido Palau, Andrew Bolton, and Tim Blanks, $ 51,09 via Amazon.com

So many cool hairstyles have been created. You don't see them quickly on the street, but you do in fashion magazines and at special events. Amazing photographers like David LaChapelle, Duane Michals, and Helmut Newton have captured that. The result? Very exciting and imaginative hairstyles in more than beautiful photos.

Hair: Fashion and Fantasy, by Laurent Philippon, $ 26,76, via Amazon.com

Francesca Tolot is not just any makeup artist. She has provided a touch-up for Beyoncé and Madonna for years and now works for M.A.C Cosmetics. And if you work for M.A.C Cosmetics, you know you can expect the coolest, most exciting, and inspiring looks. Ta-da, in this book is all the beauty that woman has created so far.

One Woman 100 Faces, by Francesca Tolot, $ 36,48, via Amazon.com
