HERE EVERYONE WAS TALKING ABOUT

The 5 most talked-about covers of 2015

December is December is December. And December is list season. Therefore, I present our first list of the month, that of the most talked-about covers of 2015. And yes, there will be a few more to follow.

6. One more then

Gisele Bündchen thinks it's about time. She walked her last catwalk show during São Paulo Fashion Week and later appeared on the cover of the celebrating Vogue Brasil. To remind us that her choice has nothing to do with any physical decline, Gisele donned the clothing of her slender body for the occasion. The photo had a Dutch touch, as the photographer duo was Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin.

5. Here she is; Caitlyn

Half a year ago, Caitlyn was just Bruce to us, who occasionally wore a skirt, but she stepped on the gas and suddenly Caitlyn was in a swimsuit on the cover of Vanity Fair. Recognition for Caitlyn and a new sales record for Vanity Fair, as they surpassed their previous success from four and a half years ago with Johnny Depp on the cover and sold more than 500,000 copies.

4. and another transgender

Although Loiza Lamers won Holland’s Next naturally on character and beauty, she made history as the first transgender model to win this program. And one of her prizes was the cover of our own Amayzine magazine.

3. THE HADID SISTERS

Double Trouble. Bella and Gigi, and then also dangerously sexy photographed for V Magazine. This is one to keep.

2. Shocking

If Bill Cosby has assaulted you, you have a hard time on multiple levels. The assault is one thing. But try hunting the country's favorite into the dock. You won't succeed. Some people are untouchable. Or almost untouchable. Fortunately, there is such a thing as justice and all's well that ends well. On this cover were all the women who were assaulted by Bill Cosby. And there was an empty chair symbolically offering a place to all the others who did not dare.

1. Viva Vanessa

Where ex-lover Johnny Depp mainly made history this year by awkwardly presenting a lifetime achievement award on stage (and okay, luckily for him he also became the face of Dior Homme), Vanessa showed she still has the body of a sixteen-year-old. What am I saying? Of a six-year-old. For Vogue Paris, she had herself photographed in three different ways by, there they are again, Inez and Vinoodh, with the nude cover causing the most uproar. What do I think of that? Let me put it this way: I hope Vanessa brags a few extra times this Christmas. If only because it makes us feel a little less bad. Thanks.
