the pros and cons of being tall
I'm 1.83 centimetres tall. I used to hate this when I was younger as I always got into a fight at some concert after being accused of blocking someone's view, being the size of a tree and all. All my boyfriends were short a head but on the upside I did get into an adult Disco once. At that time Zara had a lot of extra long jeans, perfect, because now everything is short, short, short.
Ah well, I sort of came to terms with my length and sometimes I even enjoy it. With Lisbeth, at work, it's really fun as I wear flats and she wears heels; so she's just that bit bigger than me, love that. Yes my friends, life becomes very complicated above the 1.80 cm boundary, especially if you have absolutely no chance of becoming a model. At least then it would have been an asset, no, just kidding. There are certain advantages to being tall, I'll share them with you. Maybe all tall girls have this in common and we can all whine together.
Pros
- You always have a clear view, no matter where you are.
- In airplanes you have a greater chance of getting an upgrade and more leg space.
- You can reach everything.
- Let's be honest, most trends suit you; like flared jeans or culottes, high waisted shorts and the three-quarter skirt.
- You can drink more, sorry people, proof by science.
- You have a shot at becoming a model.
CONS
- It's great that you can reach everything but a least once a month someone in a supermarket asks me to reach for that last packet of butter up there in the cooling section.
- Pants you try on in a store are almost always too short.
- Finding a (read: attractive) tall suitor is a project.
- Heels are often a no-go, cause 2 metres is just too tall.
- That comment: “ Oh, I feel really small beside you.” Very annoying.
- That people ask you if you're a model, and you're not, as your other measurements go nowhere near the requirements
